NMS series 2 freshen up...
My series 2 has been off the road now for at least 4 years or so and has spent that time at my parents house sitting in their garage, but its now time I started to give it a bit of a freshen up and get it back on the road ready to use again instead of it just being sat shoved in a garage somewhere.
The plan is to slowly change a number of things on the car and make some improvements in a number of areas then get it back out on the road and ready to thrash again!
This is how the car looked last time is was being used...
and this is where its been sleeping for the last 4+ years...
More small updates to follow....
Cheers Paul

Yep about time I actually started to make use of the car again rather than it just sit collecting dust!
Plans include changing the steering wheel, fitting a boost gauge as never got round to sorting one out, gonna fit a rear strut brace, change the bonnet pins, going to fit standard lights all round, new wheels in a different colour, probably going to remove the NMS graphics, need a tailgate pop solenoid fitted, new number plate light, want to fit a carpet back in, change the front poly windows and a handful of other small bits and pieces.
Been collecting a few parts slowly over the last few months so will try and keep the updates coming.
Then once a lot of that is done will get the beast taxed and tested etc ready for some abuse!
Later on in the year I would also like to change the suspension all round, will get some new seats, and then if I have the spare cash will be up to NMS for a cam swap.
Spec is still the same as before, stage 7 NMS conversion etc, fitted some new cooling fans just before it was taken off the road so still need to check they work fine too.

Right now for a few pics...
Sold the diamond cut wheels a few months back as I decided I wanted something a bit more motorsport style and lighter so managed to picked up these Team Dynamics 1.2's at a bargain price off Ebay....
Decided to powered coat them gloss Black, only two done wheels so far but the other two are in this week to be done, Keeping the R888's on for now too...
And while the wheels were being done I decided to Brighten up the original centre caps a bit by covering the middle with some 3M di-noc carbon sheet (tried to get some genuine carbon centre caps done but had no luck there)...

Getting there slowly now, few more bits arrived this week,
the front poly windows will be removed and replaced with some standard clear tint glass ones and the electric window motors will all be put back in to, then will need to get hold of some standard door cards again (binned my old ones!).
This arrived the other day....
Looks kinda like a defi style gauge, also it lights up backlit green with an orange needle to match all the other instruments and wasn't to pricey either
More soon....

A few more small updates, All wheels are now back on the car, was waiting for a few bits so I could fit them all on, Got hold of some new black 17mm wheels bolts along with some covers to go over the bolt heads just to make them look a bit nicer, also painted up some adhesive wheel weights to balance the wheels with, again just so they suit the black wheels, need to get the car right out of the garage really for some better pics...
Also been working on where the boost gauge is going so some updates on that soon too...
Joe: Its a NMS stage 7 spec, steel bottom end, worked head and cam, cossie management, greens, water ink, hybrid T34, twin cossie cooler etc etc.
Been reading your resto thread too, looking good dude.

Fitted the boost gauge into the pod I made for it, Its like what Twins had done with theres, just moulded a standard gauge pod finer glassed the fillered into the standard surround then given a rub down and a paint in Satin black,
Also added a connector plug to the back of the gauge wiring for easier fitting and removal,
Gonna get a new battery sorted for the car next week then fit it all in and get it wired up and working...

Thanks for the comments,
Ill get some pics of the gauge lit up once its fitted into the car.
Yep still using an MFI inlet, Karl suggested I kept it to use at the time of speccing my engine, I believe he said it was better than using an EFI version? Dunno why though?
And yeah I think it has been modded a little.

Got my rear strut brace back from my friend Lee who's done an awesome job painting it so it now matches the painted cage, Hopefully fitting this tom as well as new battery then gonna start her up for the first time in about a year!

Managed to get the car out of the garage (just about!) at the weekend and get a few bits done, Boost gauge and new surround all in and plumbed up...
And got the rear strut brace in and fitted too.
Ordered some aerocatch bonnet pins today to replace the ghastly ones fitted at the mo.

Paul, how much was your gauge and where did you get it from? I have one in mine but as it comes on boost it buzzes!!! I need to get another one and like that your one has a black edge to it.
I cant remember what you did with the gearbox. Whats been done to it?
