Unfortunately it's slow going at the moment with the garage still under construction, house renovations chewing up time and money and being lucky to have 2 weeks a month at home because of work but hopefully have the garage and renovations done before winter and then I can make a good start on cutting the cars up.
Hello mate. I got a surprise to read there that you are in Adelaide. Most people are elsewhere in Oz!
I emigrated to Adelaide 19 months ago and have built a house in the southern suburbs.
Would be great to catch up with a ford fan at some point
G'day Lambchop,
What have you got, there's a couple of RS Cosworths in your picture but I don't think I've ever seen one on the Road in SA, seen a couple of Sierra RS Cosworths and a Sapphire RS Cosworth at events but that's it!
If you know anyone with a Sapphire that wants some spare body panels or trim let them know that I'll be stripping the XR4x4 sometime soon and I'm not too keen on simply throwing away what I don't need, I'd rather see anything I don't want go to keeping cars on the road in good shape.
I live just South of the city centre and spend plenty of time down south as that's where most of my mates live.
I'm keen to catch up anytime, I have a couple of mates with MK1 and 2 Escorts either with period modifications or running late model Jap engines but none are overly into the car scene other than one who runs his MK1 in hill climbs and super sprints at Mallala etc.
It's not too big, compared to s standard double garage it's an extra 600 in each direction. Hopefully it proves big enough to work on the car(s) and store everything else that is currently spread throughout my house and the old garage.
Sorry about the slow going, works been getting in the way of things the past few months. I have however finally finished the brick work on my garage, next up getting the roof on!

It's been a while and much has happened, unfortunately not much with the car though..... I've left the partnership I had with my previous company (long story) and gone out on my own so over the past however long it's been this has taken up most of my free finances and all of my time.
Fortunately I've been able to pick up a decent amount of work and better still the vast majority is in the motorsport industry so things are back on track now.
So, first things first, the workshop construction has restarted, the roof work is up and now waiting on the sheeting, electrics coming up soon!
It's been a while again but work has been getting in the way of everything lately.
No progress with the car of late but I'm back on the hunt for parts, most importantly an engine which is proving difficult, while the GBP - AUD exchange rate is the best I've ever seen it!
I have managed to get the exposed timbers on the shed painted as well put up the roof iron and gutters, time to make a start on the insides so I can get the door on! At least I'm getting something done, slowly...

Hi Mate
Sorry I must have missed this!
If you still fancy a catch up then give me a shout. I've recently picked up a new Focus RS so I'm keen on the car scene again!
Just dropping in to say sorry about the broken image links, can't even download my own album from Photobucket... Have deleted my account and will set up a new one elsewhere, from there I'll load up a summary of photos to date as it will be difficult to find them all...
Workshop is progressing slowly in it's goal to become a workshop, it's seen quite a few alternate uses over the past 12 months though!
And finally the car, not much happened here, little bit of design work on engine components but that's it, "real" work has got the better of me...
And if anyone can point me in the direction of a Cosworth BOB for sale that would be awesome!
There is a guy in Western Australia that has put V6 cosworth engines in lots of his cars MK1 Cortina convertible, MK 4 Cortina convertible and corsair he is in our RS owners club if there is one about he will know. there was 2 4x4 Sierra,s for sale on gumtree last week in perth as well I think one of them was a XR4x4.
Dropping in to see who people recommend for image hosting following the Photobucket disaster, was hoping to get some images back up so this thread starts making sense again!
One thing I have noticed is that the images from my last post have remained but have a new address suggesting they are hosted by passionford or a partner, anyone know what's going on there?
Next up, time to start putting some effort back into this so onto getting the workshop ready to move stuff in and chasing an engine. Unfortunately since starting this project the supply of Cosworth BOBs has dropped substantially, anyone got any ideas of where to look?
Note that bringing a Granada over to Australia to cannibalise the engine from won't be an option, it was hard enough getting the Sierra XR4x4 over for the chassis! My initial application for the was rejected as cars can't be brought in for spare parts so I looked at it the other way around and resubmitted the application to make the Sierra the primary car with my local MK1 Escort being the donor car supplying the body...
I'd love to talk to you about your project and in particular how you are going about the engineering to get rego.
I'm looking at bringing a very modded cossie in from interstate and fuck me it's a mine field!

G'day Lambchop,
Sorry for the slow reply, been somewhat distracted from the car lately!
I don't intend on getting it rego'd, it will be built to CAMS Group 2A speed event requirements, basically unlimited for hillclimbs etc. but may be able to get rally rego as it will in principal meet WRC guidelines.
What are you bringing the modded cassie over for? If it's not intended to be a road car it may be worth looking into rally rego, at least you'll be able to get it to and from events that way.
And as I'm trying to get things moving again I've put another question up in my Technical help Q & A thread, have a look and if you can help that would be awesome!

Hello Mate
The cossie is here with me in Adelaide now. I haven't done much about roadworthy yet but the ball will be rolling this week. I ordered all new suspension from the UK so I could bin the coilovers which need engineering.
This will be a road car only so I'm ensuring that all mods are declared and the car is legally on the road so I don't get any police issues later
