Fitted a st170 lower grill today
Here is the new grill and my original side by side



And fitted

 

just collected my st170 hubs and brakes tonight

 

Do all the mk 1.5s have the same front grill between the head lights.

 

Its looking good mate but its all the small details that make the whole car 'work' im sure there's still loads to come debadging the front grill and boot lid for example

Bought and fitted some smoked depo rear lights today




then took my old brakes off



And fitted my st170 ones



They only just fit



the brakes are so much better,dont know why ford fitted those stupid hubs to the standard focus

Full SS exhaust next with a 4-1 puma manifold? Bluefin or dream science map? 65mm trottle body, etc etc .

 

wont fit this is a 2 litre,i would need a st170 manifold or a stainless 4 branch

How big are the ST170 front discs compared to the standard discs.

Did you have to remove the bumper to fit the lower grill.

 

st170 discs are 300mm

 

The grill just pulls out and the new one clips in
Standard brakes are 260 I think and 170 brakes are 300

 

Just bought some new seats today
Recaro speed half leather and half alcantra

 

fitted one seat today but the bolsters are massive and i dont know if i can live with them daily so i think they are going to be sold on

 

How much you want for them seats. i could live with them at the right price

 

they are half leather half alcantra
and are £750 each new
and these are like new
i would like £600 for the pair

 

think im gunna just try and get used to the seats, fitting the other one on monday
cleaned the car this afternoon ready for going up to croft tomorrow

Love it, reminds me of my old grey zetec, i half tinted my lights too, have you still got standerds? got another focus now

washed with autoglym shampoo(ph neutral)
clayed with smartwax clay and poorboys quick detailer
rewashed
poorboys ssr(complete car)
poorboys nattys paste(twice)
poorboys ex-p sealant(twice)
smartwax dressing for plastic/rubber
turtle wax glass cleaner
hoovered
armour all matt dash wipes for internal plastics

then this afternoon gave it a rinse off with
autoglym shampoo again
poorboys black hole(twice)
poorboys ex-p sealant(twice)
the paintwork now feels smooth as silk
and looks like this

Just a note on the polish, EX-P really wants a hard wearing wax on top to protect the finish.

ST170 - Poor fuel consumption, clunky gearbox, less reliable, higher insurance and very little difference in WHP due to transmission losses of the 6 speed box.

In my opinion the ESP is the better car.
