Cool Focus mk1 conversion to focus van

Hi and thankyou for taking the time to read this thread and for all your responses (if any).
I am new to Passion Ford and thought it would be the perfect place to get the advice and help I need to help me get through this project quicker and easier.
I have a mk 1 1.8 focus that used to be the girlfriends everyday car until it started smoking quite bad and rattling from the cams around cylinder 1. Now I've bought her a new car I've decided to convert the focus into a van so it stands out and would be great to advertise on for the garage business I own.
First thing I need to do is get it running properly, but I don't want to just rebuild the 1.8 that's in there, I want more power!!!! I was thinking of getting it bored out but then I was also thinking 'would it be easier to just get a completely different engine to drop in there?'

Please help

Finally had a couple of hours free in work today to start a bit of work on my focus/van conversion. Started the obvious way and started stripping the guts out of the rear end ready for the rear doors and windows to be panelled up.

Rear windows out, door panels off, all rear trim removed, rear seats out, carpet trimmed back a little for now, all rear seat belts out and a few other bits........

Pictures will be on here soon when I figure out how to do it through my iPhone

Another quiet morning in work, not good for business but great for my project. Managed to get one back door nearly ready, welded up ground back, and first skim of filler. Happy so far [IMG]Name: 06a56015.jpg

Not sure, it's a perfect size and shape for a small van to run around in without having to look like a builder, plumber, or electrician !!!!!!

2.0 is pretty much a straight swap, you just need the 1.8 clutch, flywheel and injectors.

No not yet but I guess I will be buying the mag in the morning now, thanks for letting me know, what's it like?

There's not that much of a power increase from 1.8 to 2.0 though is there?? Only about 10-15 bhp?

Yeah, about 15bhp but it's the only straight forward swap, everything else is quite expensive and tricky. The RS conversion is the best value for money.

It has been done but the bloke doing it hasn't quite finished it yet, it's a tricky (and expensive) one.

The concept one? Yeah, was pretty cool, but only had a 2.0 engine. Still, a Focus RS van...pretty cool!
