Tbh, as standard they really aren't much to write home about but a few tweaks and they're a different car. Volvo seemed to have deliberately made the 940s dull lol

No updates recently, been distracted lol. Not sure what to do now, may be moving the Volvo on. We'll see.

Cheers Grant! I'll admit even I didn't think it would look half as good as it does now, like a genuine sport version of the 940 lol.

If I finished it and put a full ticket on it about Ł1100? Dunno really. Seems fair for a 7 seat RWD 300bhp estate. Basically it's a car that can do anything, so not sure why I'm thinking of getting rid really!

Been a while and not much to report, didn't sell in the end, decided to keep it and change it's purpose...

She's now stripped! Door cards, rear seats, headlining and carpet are gone.

Plan is to turn it into a drift/track car (with plenty of space for spare tyres )
Bumpers will be removed and 'hollowed out' then made quick release as will the boot lid, still got the tuning bits to put on and I'm thinking of getting it resprayed in a colour similar to the polestar demo cars (baby blue).

First things first though, I need to get round the immobiliser and get her to somewhere I can work on her as she's stuck in an industrial estate car park ATM!

This one is solid as a rock, no rust of any note and it's a Ł500 car so...
May have stripped the car at the side of a road... did get some looks I have to say! Lol

Really need to get back on it but the car being 10 miles away in vacant lot doesn't really lend itself to being worked on, hope to get it somewhere soon though and to have some sideways action

Wow, that's mint! Rot free for peanuts! How much is the insurance though? Expensive?

And LOL at stripping it out roadside style

I can see this being one of the best sleepers about

Insurance is reasonable really. It is a Volvo after all, not really on the insurers blacklist

Only stripped it there as we were bored and couldn't be bothered to move it lol.

Won't be a sleeper when it's done, it won't be subtle at all!

It's now moved down to my uncles workshop, well outside it anyway. Decided to take the whole engine from my doner car and put it in the estate and sell my current engine to someone with a 340. Not much going on otherwise, got a mk4 Cabriolet that'll be getting a turbo lump ASAP but once that's done the Volvo will get some attention.

740/940 turbos are a great base for a project IMO, still cheap, easily upgraded and a bit different

no UK forums that I know of or use I'm afraid. Just got lucky and found the right car on ebay. My mate knows his stuff when it comes to Volvos so he tells me what to buy and what to not bother with. If I can help though give me a shout.

A pal of mine has one of these, maybe even two, he is round your area near Kings Lynn. Sure hits is nearing 300bhp and he plans to fit some massive American turbo at some point. Funny as fuck cutting about in it.

Well... Unfortunately this hasn't gone much further recently due to lack of space to work on it. It's possible my mate will be breaking it up and keeping parts to put in his future projects (red block Manta GTE anyone?) in exchange for fitting an SR20 into my MX5.
