bit more news, mate at work put my design for the front crossmember on to cad to see how it can be cut and it threw a spanner in the works . to make it line up it wants to cut the uprights at 12 degrees (designed it all at 0 degrees) so this means i have to redo all the technical drawings. i suppose its better to find out now before any steel is cut.
must say though it does look good in 3d.
will get the drawings redone this week and try again. will post some pics of them to see what you think.

bit of good news today , sorted the 100 x 50 mm box section for the chassis rails so hopefully next week should have some bits cut.the box section is only 2mm thick wall probably a bit thinner than you would normally use but i am trying to keep the weight to a minimum and with the chassis being welded into the shell as it was originally it will be more than enough.theres going to be some serious engine setback in the frame (whole engine behind the front axle) and the shell will be body dropped over the chassis to get it as low as possible.i want that old custom look but with a bit of dtm racer thrown in if you get where im going.progress is slow but i guess it just takes time.

more pics,
finally got the chassis design do
basic frame layout but it moves all the suspension mounting points up so the chassis sits nice and low even with the huge 22" rear wheels.chassis sits 5" off the floor so it has a good ground clearance.as i said before the body will be dropped over the chassis to make it look even lower.it,s 46" to the top of the roof.
may have also sorted the jag rear axle and hopefully they can also narrow it as well.more as i go.

not been on for a bit but have now got some bits done.
back axle is now narrowed 12"
front crossmember is also well on its way.

steering rack also on its way.

chassis is still to be lazor cut but should not be to far off now, with any luck all the other bits should be ready so it should come together pretty quick. more soon.

started on the chassis this week, as the 3" exhaust runs through the frame needed to weld rings into the frame.

start to weld the frame this week.
