Default Mk4 Escort - Woody

Hey all, i'm Ria and i'm new here and this is my first Ford (previously a Corsa owner *facepalm*) she is a 1989 1.6 ghia (yes a ghia it's top of the range ) probably quite a few of you won't like my car but I thought I would show you anyways and hopefully you can give me some advice if she goes wrong The radiator already has a leak

And thats how she stands at the moment I have a crome and wood roofrack coming next week and then I just need to get her sitting on the floor and she needs a full service and abit of lovin'

Comments etc welcome good or bad?

Also i'm having abit of trouble finding a lowering kit which goes lower than 60mm do any of you have any pics of escort mk4's lowered by 60mm?

Over and out

Why did you have to do it to an aqua jade?? . Im not tottaly against the look tbh its just yours is the only other 5 door one in this colour I've seen in a few years.

Get yourself on the boards here. http://mk4escorts.freeforums.org/?si...417cd12146bbdc

PS as for the lowering kit, any mk4 escort setup..be it RS or 3i will fit so no need to go as low as 60mm

on that car, I'd loose the "wood". Interesting idea and, when done right and on the right car, could look good but it doesn't on this. I see what you tried to do though mate and respect to you for being different.

i Think a wood panelling effect can be pulled off successfully IF the whole cars been done over, On wrecks to riches barry white's ford focus estate that was red with the wood panelling looked good, but like i said the whole car had been gone over, wheels, lowered tints etc, they didnt just stick some fablon to the sides of a standard car.

i'd be tempted to fit a tuned up RST lump and leave it looking like that...sleeper chariot

Seriously I do love tractors, do we not have any ford tractor threads going on here? I would love to rebuild a T20 but skills and money and space prevent me

Yeh maybe the wood might come off :S

And no engine swap for this one I'm afraid but I do want to tune up the cvh as much a possible, so any advice or links to threads on how to do so would be appreciated

Do you use ronseal and auto glym when cleaning?

P.S if you slam it too low it will drive like sh*t

Car does look in good order, for tuning you could fit twin carbs or throttle bodys?

Nope I just take it too the local jet wash and use the wax, then I dry her off with microfibre cloths Thing is I have very little knowledge when it come to engines I did build a haynes engine a few months back no joke!! So i'm going to have to take her to the garage to get most things done meh

What would you recommend for lowering?

depends on budget really, a set of G max shocks and springs will drop it quite well, or you could go for a koni set up (a lot dearer)

peel the wood effect of lift up the the wheelie bin lid and place the wood effect deep in the bottom close lid.

Have a look in the rs turbo parts for sale section, normally a few cars getting broken for spares, so you might get a 2nd hand bargain or ebay etc

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/escort-rs-...item45fdf9b331

or a koni set up?
