Me and a couple of mates have bought a four door mk2 escort 1.3 (its a GL and brown WOW!) we want to use for general razzing around track days / cruises etc. We have quite a few spares sitting around (88 spec recaro's, type 9 gearbox, 1.8 zetec engine X2, capri 2.8 back axle with broken diff, capri laser front struts)

we want to make it quick, but we are all poor
Any advice (apart from scrap it) would be of help.

I'd think they would all be winging their way towards the scort!

 

oh yeah..... but we are skint, and cant afford the zetec mounting kit ...

 

'ave you got a welder, if so find a steel mechant ask for some off cuts and go make one

 

good advice,we do have access to a welder but none of us has ever used one, so i would not be confident it holding the engine at the right angle.....and there is the water pump/thermostat issue of it being at the back of the engine...... we might just find a pinto from somewhere.....

 

A spirit level would be ok, just practice welding before hand
