MKII Escort
Haha, it's my car, I'll do what I want to it... Everyone with a MKII has a flat bonnet and a rear window you can see out of and I want to have something different! I can't stand following the crowd.
Actually thinking about it, whats the difference between pretty much every MKII out there... Colour, wheel arches and wheel choice... too similar if you ask me.
If you don't like it then tough, in fact those that are saying I'll "ruin" it are encouraging me to do even "worse" stuff just to annoy you even more
As for those that aren't, thanks for the support!

As for those that aren't, thanks for the support! people on here are trying to give you advice personally i would laugh at it with a scooby vent in it, not the same era as the car your choice at the end of the day and saying that you would do even worse stuff to it just to annoy people on here then i think you should not be on this site as all the people on here are enfusiasts of fords and especially a old mk 2 getting that treatment will roll a few peoples eyes on here. people like to see these cars with respect not just put a load of crap on them as there aint many left now.
ExactlyThis "sk8ter" or whatever he wants to be called gets given a classic car and rather than cherish, maintain and look after it, he wants it to look like a pile of random bits and bobs. Dont feel sorry for him because he's young, I'm younger and I'm not this idiotic.
sell it to a true enthusiast (which you are not if you'd gladly butcher this classic)
Subaru vents are cool LOL
i had one on my Fiesta Si, i liked it haha, but not everyone likes what your doing.. just ditch that gay louvre thing on the rear window and lower it, and all should be well... Dont like yours personallyy, it looks like it drove thru halfords backwards...But, good luck with your future plans

A crime against a true classic car. Keep your individuality in the way YOU look and behave, please don't inflict such behaviour on a rare and potentially valuable car. Make it look retro and period correct, then sell it and buy yourself a mountain of guyliner and oxy 10 or whatever you fancy.
On the plus side if you get it on the road and drive it daily i'll give you a fortnight before someone relieves you of it as the other guy have warned.

Slight overreaction from a few people just for the sake of a bonnet vent.
I agree that it will look out of place, but have seen far worse things.
Think it could be modified to quite a nice "period" look with the rear louvre. Something different from the norm. I can't remember seeing something like that with wolfrace wheels/slot mags or something like that with some period street machine-esque mods in many year. That side of thing could look ok and different. Personally I'd be going a more conventional and "clean" route, but always nice to see something different as long as it's done well and tastefully. A bonnet is easily changed so hardly ruining the car.
I would urge caution and remember the value of the car, and what the value of the car could be if well preserved in years to come.....

jack up at the rear with the louvres is so 1980
in a way it would actually be quite cool to keep it as it was modified way back then when mad max was the bollocks.
its your car and your street cred though

Most 2 doors have arches, or wheels etc.. Make it 100% original and you'll recieve a lot more street cred.
what a fucking ASW.
Clearly an EMO punk rock or similar freak. Quite why his hair completely covers his right eye i dont know..... Hes playing his guitar right handed and is also likely to be right eye dominant and thus cant see out of his right eye meaning he will walk into things.....
oh well, we will probably hear about his suicide for "cyber bullying on a car forum" in a few weeks either that or some poor mental health team in yorkshire will have to deal with him after he is referred to them for an overdose/self harm episode because of Pf, all while some genuinely mentally ill person cant get help because the resources are being wasted by this EMO cunt.

of course i could be stereotyping the lad

what a little c**t, typical kids attitude. Shame the car could look pretty good with some effort. as soon as i saw the pic of him I knew this wasnt going to go well!
Thought cool young lad gets a MKII. checked pic, was a 3 door and was jealous. Then read more of his first post. Clearly scooby vents will look ghey as hell. some subtle vents like the retro Opel Manta rally car wouldn't be so bad with the correct engine under the bonnet.
Also sod fibreglass items a proper car like this needs proper panels.
This car is doomed for the scrapyard at this rate, lets hope the keys dont 'get' into his hands and the father realises his mistake for giving him the car.
Oh the other hand, im sure if someone sees it on the road, they'd smash the vent/bonnet.

Fuck me lads dont hold anything back ay .
He's young and dont know as much as he'd like to think but there aint no need for the nasty comments
all you can do is give people advice and after that it's there choice
I know its a classic and we'd all love the chance of being given one but its his car at the end of the day.

Green giant has taken over i suspect.
I like the look of it
I imagine he wont sell this .. After a few year (if its not stolen / wrote off / rotted away) Am sure he would put it back together in a more subtle way .. The lad never asked for advice on body work .. Just advice on a few parts ..
His dad must be a empty head, surely the man wouldn't let his kid ruin a classic
Granted but if his dad has kept the car for so long be must like them, More than likely the lad will get over enthusiastic in front of his mates and probs wrap it.
