I done the conversion and ended up gutting the puma for bit and ended up with the hole car loom put in to a fiesta zt s , wouldn't have even bothered if I didn't have a donar car , that was over a year ago and it's been prob free ( touch wood) I am now considering selling the car now.
ive got the full loom but just wondering whether or not i need the transponder ring or if i could leave my fiesta one on. im doing the conversion it the fiesta 1.3 finesse mk5 has been the most stressful few days of my life. anyone know if its possible to put digi dials on a analogue ecu ?
pretty sure from past pumas the ring is not coded to anything its just a sensor, as long as the loom is right for the ecu and chip then it will work.
+1. Done this conversion a couple of times. The ring isn't coded, that's just the sensor for the transponder. All you will need is the key chip to match the ecu.
As for the mix/match loom it really is more hassle than it's worth. You could buy the correct ecu and engine loom for your vehicle for about £100.
I've heard if someone getting a conversion running in the same position as u, but the digi dash never worked as the ecu couldn't control it.
good advice ill run it on analogue clocks for a bit then get the digi dash ecu and just splice plugs in the plug into the clocks thanks for the help everyone
