A quick Buffty session under the bonnet reveals that there is life left in the dull red paintwork with very little effort...

Once Graham's sorted his top mounts I'll foam tape round the suspension turrets and blow them in with alittle fresh radiant red...

A quick clay and polish of the front wing also gave us a idea what the paintwork will come up like...

I couldn't believe the difference in the inner wing for a quick wizz over with the mop. I will polish all the fiddly bits and give it all a good coat of wax before I bolt everything back in.

It's a trial run... Need to check the colour against the wing before I paint the other panels...
Must remember to pick some masks up... It's kinda foggy in a 8x10 shed!!!
Normally have some in stock...
It's base and clearcoat so atleast the mirrors won't go pink!!!

Crystal Blue can't be many of them left... Last one I saw that colour was in my mates ford breakers yard in Scotland before he down sized.

Red looks brilliant for a saph, only ever seen one red one red one on the road, they are rare as...

Excellent work anyway, and I am loving the old school hocks! I've just sourced a set of RS7 softlines in anthracite, but I am keeping my eyes open for a set of 17in TSW Evo with the blue nut for a winter wheel

Will 2000 and 3000 the peel out, a quick polish and it should be perfect...
Will be nice once the whole car is detailed...

Tried out HDR mode on my phone...
I would have preferred to have taken the cover off the mirror to paint it but I think this covers been bonded on...
Again they'll look perfect with a little flat and polish... More than happy with the gun finish... its all good practice...

Not done much this weekend as i was away codriving for a mate at the SMC stages rally. first time out in 4 years and the first rally for his new Clio 172.
Had a great weekend, few silly mistakes which meant the overall times were poor, but we put some good competitive times in on the few 'clean' stages.
and the car came away with only a few minor faults and battle scars

This weekends progress...

Engine is all boxed up and ready to go in, bar changing a few bits of hose to black when my new hoses turn up...
New cam bearings and seals fitted, found the reason for the oil leak from the front of the engine, the o rings from the back of the bearings were missing. All new belts etc. too.
Mega pleased with how its looking. Cam cover looks awesome
Just got to decide what to do with the cambelt cover because its tatty and letting the side down.
