few more bits arrived today! firstly the r1s are really bad for oil starvation and breathing so ive bought a baffle plate, the blocks already been modded internally and will put 2 extra breathers in the cam cover.

one with the airbox on, with it haveing a shallow sump im hopeing that it can be mounted quite low allowing me to keep the airbox / bit of forced induction!

and a new sprocket-prop adapter

Beautiful project!

Reminds me of an ice race Fiat X19 I built with a Honda VF1100 engine about 15 years ago.
Fun car - shifting at 10,000 rpm was great.

It's a bastard being in the North East at times, not a lot is close to me think I could do with investing in a trailer and tow vehicle.

Croft - 43.8 miles
Oulton Park - 178 miles
Cadwell Park - 181 miles

You lads ever been on track at Blyton Park, it's a canny little track, nicely priced and not too strict on noise etc

well the engines in, in a fashion! got a fairly good angle on the prop which will bolt streight up with a little machining to the adaptor, manifolds not a million miles off and makeing the rest of the mounts up isnt going to be the end of the world so im a happy chappy! airbox is going to be the biggest issue as i really want to retain the tricy trumpets but going to chop it up and bring the intake from the opposite side piped from the naca duct which shouldnt interupt the airflow if done rite but wel see! time for the professor to make some nice mounts now lots of pics comeing! to be continued . . . .

right managed to squeeze few hours in this afternoon got bits of wiring done and fitted a innovate wideband lambda guage.was going to just get the controller and run it through the dash/ecu but the guage isnt much dearer so thought id just get that. all looks a little messy at the mo but will be much better once tie wrapped up!

heres the blipper for the flatshift kit, simply remove the throttle off cable and fit this in its place, took a bit of messing to get it working smoothly but is all good now!

and a few of the cradle just needs welding up now and painting. spacers used to make it easier to remove as its bound to break it has cosworth parts in it!!!

on with the engine loom tomo!! not long now!

cheers beefy

right had a mess with the throttle bodys and variable intake trumpets. my ecu will only give an out put to operate the motor one way so at rest i needed the trumpets to be fully closed rather than sat off so set about turning a groove onto the link rod to bring the mechanism lower and fitted a longer stronger spring

fully closed at rest now

also with it being a flybywire set up the preload holding the butterflys closed was pretty extreme so stripped them down again and removed the large spring from the middle where the motor would normally go, is much easier now and will take a lot less load of the blipper

right big update time! a load of pics in no real order,

first of all a bit of a pikey touch up paint job while the bits were off for powdercoating!

moved the solonoid for the gearshift down under the cradle out of the way keeping the weight low down

exhaust headers modded and lower primary has been completely remade to go under the brace bar

made a bracket for the clutch slave pinched form my old engine, was originally from a pulsar gtir and was the perfect ratio so decided to stick with it

lambda boss welded in the collector for the wideband

little tip for cooling systems!! needed a reducer so rather than makeing one pre soldered plumbing fittings have little ribs on them already and are perfect for the job so the pipes dont slip off! whole things piped up now (with plumbing fittings and samco)!! and decided to run a thermostat so managed to get this inline one so see how i get on with it as it tool so long for my old engine to get up to temp properly!

few random ones!

spot the plumbing fittings!

ecus, gearchange on the left, flatshift and throttle blip on the right and the engine ecu under them
