4x4 saff tidy up (back on it for a week)
Had this car for over 10 years. it started life as a 2wd but in 2005 i went over to 4x4 running gear. but keeping the 2wd rear diff
Just a few bits on the car im not happy with! so over the last few weeks iv set about getting it how i want it.
Starting with the underside Yep another saff getting a bit of love
a few years back
ford fair
one of my things to do list is move the oil cooler over
rear end dropped and ready for stripping for its 2nd powder coat of its life
lower arms had been cut for bilstien coilovers one of the bits im not happy with
rear arm all done
ready for powder coating well after iv used my mates press
diff needs a clean up
rear brake caliper before paint
and just got the wheels back today

running around today dropped 2wd manifold and turbo housing off to Zirotec in Oxfordshire so they can ceramic coat it, no more glowing turbo i hope
post pics before and after when they send it back
also dropped drive shaft's off and diff, a few alloy bits, beam and lower arms to platers to do there magic
pics will be posted when i get them back
when i asked for rear beam and lower arms to be shot blasted, then powder coated, the bloke said i should have it shot blasted then zinc coated then powder coated ? Anyone herd of this before?

If you don't mind me asking what are they charging for doing the rear beam and arms and were are you getting them done? as for zinc plating it as well, sounds like a good idea it can only help to keep them rust free for longer but depends on how much extra it will cost as to wether it is worth it or not.

How do they protect the areas that can't be blasted or powder coated like on the hubs and drive flange spigot etc ?

had a little sort out of the bolts i think i know where they all go
loads to do now as beam will be back next week
