I used a rubberised, overpaintable textured Shultz mate. The underside was heated with a heat gun then every bit of ford underseal taken off with a 1" scraper.(Graft!!!)
I then under primered the whole underside in Zinc paint, undershultzed it with 4 coats, then 5 coats of mercury grey, then 3 coats of 2k laquer!!!

Many thanks chaps.
Really should update the story so far!!!
After rolling the car over i only found serious rust in the rear arch and one of the chassis rails was all bent up due to me jacking the car up over the years.
As seen, ive so far had every bit of running gear powdercoated, brand new standard suspension and even a square tailed Gen Ford RS exhaust. All other metals that were yellow have been re zinc passivated.
Ive sourced all new clips washers, rubbers pipes etc etc aswell!! The engine pay was rubbed down by myself, primered and painted in 2k which came out better than fords ever did it.
The brake lines and fuel lines were powdercoated in their respective colours as was the jack and lever bar.
Im intending on getting new callipers, track rod ends and drop links at the weekend so hopefully within a week itll be time to drop it off the jig and try and have a clean up before i see what good painters want to do the respray in the Essex area.
Cheers again ...Updates to follow!!!

Thanks people.
Andy....Yes i have only used Gen Ford parts on it, bar a new front valance. All the Ford parts that were old have been shotblasted and powdercoated, down to all the grease inside of the cv joins being heated out and new fresh grease put into them!! Every single clip is new, spring retainers aswell. New washers and screws and all the underside bolts re zinced either black or gold. I have new header tank and brake resevoir bottle, and ive tried to apply the original paint flicks that ford seemed to flick around the nuts and bolts!!!

Many thanks people.....
Twins I have been told that before but the coater seems to think itll be ok in the sump as its a high temp mix used with some sort of Du-Pont in it....HOWEVER...Seed in my head and all that...so i think im gna get the inside re shot blasted and just a coat of oil run around it....Nothing worse that thinking "is that coating ok in the depths of the engine after some time"!!!!!
Anyways once again thanks for the comments, and ill keep updating as i go!!!

Or slightly cosmetically modified??

Hahaha!!! Many thanks for the replies again
...Unfortunately the Comps will not be for sale. They are very rare now esp in 16 x 7. Ive just bought 4 new 195.40.16 tyres for them aswell in case i decide to fit them, and they are going for a new diamond tip recut with silver inserts instead of the horrid black.
Im just debating if i can show it as standard or not with the upgraded powdercoating and airtec rad...If not then its gna be AVOs with Comps again!!!

Right, been busy this last few days. Managed to get the last of my powdercoated bits done bar my oil sump which is going back for a re-do...( didnt trust the inside of it having been powdercoated so im getting it re-shotblasted and coated in green....(joke!!)
Heres where im at...
Most of the front underside metals fitted...gearbox cradle, ARB with new clamps and rubbers, wishbones with coated balljoints (see how they go!!) s shaped thing and all the bolts that have been black zincd and then painted in black enamel before being painted in factory I.D colour codes....
Fitted all the fuel supply pipes properly, and managed to find some Ford Tank Lagging for the top, to stop it banging on the floor pan under rear seat..
Finally as the freshly painted Standard shocks are going on soon, I manged to get round to replicating the original paint flicks on the springs, ready for fitting at the weekend hopefully!!
More to follow, hope yas like!!!!
