Cheers lads, it'll get there one day.
Lol Paul, Ive done nowt else to it. Im stuck with nowhere to work on it now, I cant put it on a spit and weld it on the drive cos i cant move it to get in me garage. Pluse the drive is on a slope. Its getting on me tits now just being sat there, going to see what space I can organise in the coming months.

Just read the lot, great work being done their mate, don't get too disheartened with it, go have some more Heinekens and rally round a load of pals to help you get it in the garage
You'll love it when it's done!

No progress to report Im afraid, just waiting to get it into my mates bodyshop so I can get it up on the spit and get digging into it all properly to see just how bad the shell is and weigh up wether Im going to sort it out or look for a mint shell to put all my bits on to.
I did find a pic when looking on my dust covered camera the other day that has made me remember why I love the old shitter

No fella, my mate has his own bodyshop where Ill be doing the bodywork on it. The car is going there soon (within the next 2 month) hopefully, and another mate of mine is going to do all the metal work on it as he's a bit of a perfectionist. Everything will look factory when he's done. Then I can get on sorting the body out and getting the shell ready to bolt bits back on.

Right, Ive been and done a little more today. Really struggling looking for things to do until it goes in the bodyshop.
Decided the dash should be removed so I can see how many alarms were hidden behind there and how much of a birds nest the wiring is.....
It was a chilly job this morning
Icy dash
I was pleasantly surprised at finding no alarms/immobilisers other than the immobiliser that the car currently runs and the wiring was still in decent order
Does anyone know what these plugs are for?
Something else I have been thinking about is inside the sunroof aperture, I couldn't remember what condition it was in and I knew the sunroof itself was rusty when the car was on the road. So after 2 1/2 years of not being opened I turned the handle and fook me it was stiff. I had to work it on the tilt mechanism a few times and it began to free up a little so then tried the slide and got it about 3" before it was solid....... half a tin of WD40 later and it moved freely and I could get a look at the aperture......
Happy days, it was in good nick and the only rust present was what fell off the sunroof when I got it to open

I prefer to do the bodywork and refinishing these days compared to the mechanical stuff so its no hardship and its something I still enjoy doing
Just hope it looks as nice when its done as Im hoping as Ill have no one to blame but myself
