Sassy's Fiesta Turbo*UPDATED 5/10/06* going back together!!!
after taking the fiesta off the road in December '02 we decided we would put all the new parts we had for it to one side & leave the car for a while until we could be bothered doing it properly,, 2 years, 6 escort turbo's 2 turbo cabs, another fiesta turbo & 4 cossies later we have finally got the ball rolling.
i stripped it around last October time & took it to the painters, it sat in a spare garage there for a couple of months, then on a quiet day it had a
drivers side arch & a repair on the passenger arch. Then it sat for another
6 weeks or so, then last week it had the new doors lined up & the hinges welded on & all the other blemishes & imperfections sorted.
Next it went into the booth & was primed, then this week most of it was
painted
Its looks nice with just a gun finish, i can't wait till its flattened & polished
& all fitted up.
I got a few pics of it being done, not as many as i wanted, because i kept
forgetting to take the camera with me, or i would take it but forget to charge the batteries Anyway i got a couple of snaps of the progress, here go's,
it was like this before,
nothing really wrong with it, just a few dents & scabs that were bugging us.
the first stages,
& now the shell, doors & bonnet are painted,
i will get some more pic's as we put it back together

most of the paint is done now, i got a brand new passenger rear arch (bodykit)
i'm just waiting for a drivers side one now.
Then the rear seat has to be trimmed to match the front (black leather with silver
piping) we're also thinking of putting a black dash, carpet etc in aswell.
The engine & turbo have only done about 3 thousand miles, but we have a new
gearbox to go in. It was last rollered at 180bhp>191lbft @12psi, we have beiges
for it now, but after speaking to a few people & realising that its near imposible
to set beiges up at a higher boost level (17-20psi) without running rich on idle &
lean on full boost, i think we may go for a differant managment (omex or autronic)
we're in no rush to finish it, as we both have cossie's, this is just a project that
we wanted to finish & its a bit of nostalgia for us & a lot of our friends that now the car.

no offence but 180hp is relatively low nowadays. think monster power is in order to get the best of out a car that sounds like its going to be a minter when done!

Gaz, not sure what we will do yet, will defo keep the fiesta for a year, not sure
about the cossie's.......
the 3 door is a cool motor, but the saff is so reliable............
got a few people who want the saff & have made good bids on it, i'm only the
2nd owner, it has origanl paint & panels, leather, aircon etc....
i wouldn't sell it yet, but maybe later in the year or next year, i know now if we
sold both the cossie's we have enough to fund a escort cossie, but at the moment
the saff is handy with the 4 doors.
Matt, as for power, your right, a few years back it was one of the quickest turbos round our way (used to easily keep up with my 200bhp S2) but now everyone
else has quicker cars so it will deffo need a big power upgrade. i will be happy
with it it around the 210-220 mark, i want it to be quick & reliable, yet still be
a 1600 cvh.

not had time to do much to it, but i fitted the doors last week & installed all
the innerds from the old doors, the bonnets on aswell, most of paint is now flattened, my friend Lee is a master at mopping, so he will mop the
whole car, then i will refit the all the glass & get new door seals, window
mouldings etc....
we have a complete set of new body mouldings (green stripe) to go on,
as i prefer them fitted.
