I am watching this thread with interest, but I agree scooby vents really dont suit a Mk1.
The standard transfer box will manage around 300 BHP, so you should not have problems with the transmission however it is worth fitting an organic clutch for now.

I have been a busy boy this week.
Due to the turbo down pipe getting in the way of the water pump outlet so out with the welder and I knocked up a pipe to go round the problem. but along with this I had to move the radiator forward 2-3". It all fits now with no kinks. Heat rap is on order to rap the down pipe to try to protect the hoses

I also had a problem with the back of the fan motor getting in the way of the turbo to filter pipe.
![](http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae120/sirbuynsellalot/P5010122.jpg)
Problem solved with a MK3 Mondeo rad and fan. the motor doesn't stick out so much, How ever, as there always is a "how ever" the motor plugs did need swapping.
Starting to look a bit more done.

Wing mirror plastics are on without touching the glass thanks to the addition of some spacers.

Quick pic of the electrics getting hidden away some more and the cut off switch.

Painting the front grill in the garage.

oh im looking forward to the weekend maybe I will be able to squeeze in some car time either side of Army Vs Navy Rugby, come on the reds!!!!

I just think it would be a little over the top / chav, but then i guess it depends on how you want to style it.
Here is an evo one...

super flex bushes, but i had to buy MK2 wish bones. as the front bushes they sent me were 54mm as opposed to the 47mm. that being the only difference.

I fitted the wheels yesterday and they hit on the brakes. so I have ordered 10mm spacers , +25mm studs, lightweight nuts and new wheel bearings to fit the studs.

oh what a productive weekend. my long battle with the water pump is finally over. the 2l pump spins the right way but the outlet gets in the way of the down pipe. and the 1.8l pump spins the wrong way but the outlet goes in the correct direction. after a week of careful grinding and by the grace of god the shafts are the same size.

I managed to get the drivers side longer wheel studs done, the passenger side will have to wait until next weekend.

custom dash is getting trial fitted at the next opportunity.
all the longer wheel studs and wheel spacers are fitted.
and I will have to have a measure up for a intercooler as the cossie will not fit.

the shell more rust than steel but the engine is strong and the roof is dent free. as the carbon fibre people need a roof as a mold.
and I will have a spair running gear for when mine brakes.
