insurance isnt an issue im sure, id put it back to standard and sell it, buy somethin worth something!! if you weighed in all those sheds you could of maybe got Ł1k... for that you could buy a mk3 solid escort, then make that ace... or an orion or fiesta... lower it properlly ( springs or coilovers) on some cool as fcuk wheels, the do little bits and bobs, fit rs turbo interior, electric windows, etc

ive ust spent the last 2 hours reading this whole thing... (fuck know why, im stupid for that myself)

mate you really dont have a clue about 'modding' a car, this is a base spec escort with the po 1.3 hcs (which in my opinion is way underpowered for the size and weight ofthe escort, especially as people use them as a family car)

17in wheels with this engine and the fact yosay its bearlygot power (if less than normal) this thing wouldnt even pull off

stop with the shitty painting, terrible filler attempts and rediculas exhausts, the 1.3 hsc isnt a very loud engn, i owned a mk4 fiesta with the same engine (except it was multipoint injection) and it wasnt very loud even with out a backbox on (started it to see while swappig backboxes)

best thing you can do is stop fucking around with silly mods, you clearly have a interest in playing with cars so why not look around in the forums at guys car threads and learn about some decent mods

tbh mate i started out alot like this (though i was 12 at the time but thats not the point) i had an escort that i put massive wheels on and fillered everything and primerd the bumpers so it looked color coded, car looked alright but the engine was totally busted 2 years on (now 14) having owned 17 cars i have grown out of the mods and do sensible things because you make more money that way
anyway id say if you like the mods you are doing (though most people dont) go ahead and do them but make sure the cars driveable before you spent too much money on mods because you might be like me and find yourself with a nice looking car that wont go anywear fast unless on a trailer

ps mate i actually quite like the way the escort looks but im not sure them 5 spokes would suite it if im being honest i think some mondeo 5 spokes would suit it and they would fit nicely

i just got thes wheels yesterday and what a good deal i got, did a straight swap for them 17" black alloys. These wheels are pretty much mint hardly a marke on them and the tyres have atleast 6mm tread on them They really suit the car so will probily keep these now unless i see some 16" 5 spoke mondeo alloys going cheap. Any body got some up for sale??

Its higher at the front as its on a slight slope These wheels look like they have brand new Ford chrome centre caps with no marks on what so ever so what an absolute steal

Ill fit the other 2 wheels on the other side tomorrow and also may mark up and drill for the side skirts and rear spats but1problemive noticed that 1of the rear doors wont open so have to find a way should be able just to take off the door card and pull on the broken cable manually i think


Also got this boot spoiler for just Ł5 and a whole speedo dash binical with genuin white dials aswell for just a Ł5 butthis has a rev counter init but mine doesnt, so need some help to know how to wire up the rev counter. Is there an easyway of changing the milage as new speedo has done 83,00 but mine has do 77,000. Help ? can it be done ?

Ye they were just wired in as speakers (they were notthat loud but had some bass and supported the standard speakers up front very well. but ye mostly for show tbh

Ye thanks m8 got rid of the 17"s now av a look at new pics and yes i know the k spoke 16" mondeo alloys are the best choice on any ford, now just got tofind some at the right price

mate did you see my post about using subs as "normal" speakers... it doesn't work

and you say them alloys are suited to the car, didn't they originally come on the upgrade package with escorts (finesse i think)?

and them wheels seem to have a few marks too if thats what i see, and make sure you seal under the spoiler when you put it on!

do u drill tiny pilot holes in the ends of the spoiler (hidden of course) to drain water ? as this has some init

drain water, should be water tight, when you drill through the boot, you need to put sealant around the bottom of the spoiler where it bolts to the car.
and you must have had some tweeters in the front, and must have sounded really bassy from the back although, they wern't amped up so wouldn't have heard much from them anyway, about the alloys, yeah still look ok on the car.

these arnt chinese imports they are Italian.

and new 1 is a Piaggio X9 plus these 2 are 4 stroke and sound really powerful i hate the sound of a 2 stroke but ive owned a coupleof 2 stroke's, Yamaha Aerox 100, Honda Vision 50 and a Piaggio Zip 50 and the fastest outof the 3 was the Zip, that did 55mph flat out anditwasonly deristricted nothing else

the finesse had mostly these alloys but sometimes came with the 7 spokes as an extra i think and the si had 5 spokes mostly but the later ones also had these wheels
