Escort RS Turbo 5 years and counting
Hi my names glyn I am new here as you will gather.
Thought I would start a post of my project my escort rst
I’ve had this car for over five years now I ve had at least 3 years of enjoyment and 2 on and off trying to get it back on the road .
My first plan was to just have a nice road car with a nice usable engine brakes and suspension but as all ways it snow balls out of control.
The engine was tapping a bit so did an oil change and while I was doing that thought best to change the hydraulic tappets which helped quiten it down ,I found later it would have been a good idea to change the cam as well.
My First modifications was the suspension the front wasn’t too bad while the back was totally gone, so a full set of spax top adjust adjustable dampers and lowered springs made a big difference .
I had a set of Hi-Spec four pot calipers 310mm discs with ebc green stuff pads from my last project a escort van so they went on a few weeks later which made a real difference to the car.
I fitted some new ignition leads and spark plugs new rotor arm and dizzy cap this helped make the car feel a bit fresher.
The car all ready had a k&n induction kit and a bailey dump valve, I already had a set of samco water pipes from my other project and a grs alloy radiator so spent a day changing them over and a set of samco boost pipes.
al get some pics on soon

This is where i am I ve removed the old injection system and was running a mega squirt ms1 V3 board .
Changed the inlet manifold for a series one inlet and fitted quite big injectors cosy greys ,removed the head changed it for a ported and polished with standard valves ,was at first running the ecu on the distributor that lasted about two weeks trying to get things right and was going to take it to be mapped, and then i found out my turbo was knackered oil was getting in to the inlet and in to the engine fowling up the spark plugs.
So with the turbo sorted and a few other bits done while it was off some exhaust wrapping .
After things where better but not brilliant there isn't any body in the chesterfield area as far as i know that would map mega squirt ecu,so decided to change my ecu i had a good look at what’s available and the features and decided too fit a dta s60 ecu

More updates on a roll first clutch slave cylinder 14/10/10
hi more updates pic of clutch slave cylinder
all connected up waiting on some longer braided reservoir roses
then can fill and bleed and adjust.
The left front caliper i fitted yesterday
New radiator trill fitted its blink tight but all have it sorted the water hoses are going to be the main pain to sort Ive cut out some of the front panel to make room for inter cooler boost pipes,i know some won't like this but we don't live forever so it has to be done the hassle will be worth it.
Going to make sure it's fastened in well
hope to have engine running by Saturday at least and brakes bled by late Sunday fingers crossed
