She's moved house, to a mates garage, he's going to do the swap, mainly because i cant really be arsed and he wants my old turbo, so a deal was done.

Collins engine mounts came........

Engine went onto the stand so we can swap bits over easily.......

and we got a new assistant

A bit blurry, staffy pups dont seem to stand still very long!

Old lump is out.....

one grotty engine bay

one grotty, broken engine

This is what came out in the oil, not as bad as expected

And......we finally got to discover what clutch has taken the grief over the past 6 years of my ownership, has put up with an MSD 380 conversion for 3 years and countless santa pod runs, not to mention random launch's here and there, our bet was a 4 paddle with std pressure plate.............

Bog standard motorcraft item! Who says you need an uprated clutch over 330?

engine bay had a spruce too

And, i am kind of set on RWDing it now too.......hmmmm?

Is that the 500bhp engine of Sheady's Dan??

If so then yes, the transmission will die on a regular basis...

Going from your old set up to +500hp and loosing 50% drive is going to be a learning curve, you'll have fun though

T5s are funny boxes too Dan tbh, like the Diff, some go with stage 3 power, some last with 400-450lb/ft, i'd not be worried with a GT30 etc on a T5 tbh, aslong as it's healthy in the first place, again diff will be fine if not launched..

Yeah, i realize a T5 and std 7.5 won't last too long, but they will last longer than the plastic 4x4 stuff!
Hopefully until next winter when i will buy some decent transmission bits

My box is rebuilt and very strong - the diff on the other hand isn't going to last after the abuse it took last year

You'll be surprised how much pain they can take

So whats the plan, go 2wd for now then revert back to 4x4 with proper gear next year? or just stay 2wd

Just stay RWD and get a proper diff, its pretty much engine out to change it back again, isnt it!

First time I've read this pal, looking very nice.

Engine looks/sounds mint.

RWD saphs are soooooo much nicer than the agricultural 4x4's to drive.

Just a right handfull, esp the power you will be running!!!!

Just keep your foot up if you use it in the damp, mine was 406bhp/428lb ft and on a damp road at 100mph in 4th gear it would put you sideways if you gave it a big right foot full.
