Rear beam on your monster mini
Hi ,car looks awesome ,can you tell how much roughly you shortened the rear beam to make it fit and who shortened your drive shafts or were they bought?

Don't know about national day but I am trying to get it sorted for a mini show at santa pod on august 12th, can't wait to see what it will do up the strip with the slicks.

update
Hi all just a little update, I've had a little leak on the petrol tank where the pump carrier bolts on, I was never happy with it and decided to get it sorted while the weathers been crap. Had pro alloy make a new one up and as you can see it looks a hole lot better than the old one, also had a pipe moved on my header tank as it fouled the brace bar.
Great work by pro alloy can't fault the boys.
Will get a pic with it all fitted up when its done.i

Hi all, I've got a drag event this weekend at santapod so decided to try a couple of yoko A048s on the back to give a little extra grip, I've heard these are good in the dry conditions but not so good in the wet let's hope its dry then.
Any feed back on these being used as a drag tyre would be helpful if people have used them.
Cheers andy..

santa pod weekend.
Well I finaly got it up the strip I done about 15 runs best was 13.1. At 110mph And my worst was 17 when I crunched third gear and felt a right muppet.
It was really hot and my best time came when I left the car to cool right down later in the afternoon. I had trouble getting it off the line it was bogging down so there is room for improvment,
Best 60ft time was 2.1 so need to practice a bit on my launch, first time at the pod so I know what I've got to do next time
Heres a vid of one run, 13.6 I forgot to do a burn out so it just spins off the line.

Getting the 60fts down to 1.5 or 1.6 should see an easy low 12sec run. Although with 110mph terminal which is fairly decent too, you should be able to run low 12's with a less aggressive launch. 1.7's 60fts should be very easy to achieve. At least they are with a heavy 4wd car, so should be in a lighter one. Lighter car will be a lot easier on the drivetrain too.
Just takes some commitment to make a hard launch. The car looks really well on the strip. It was some 18 years ago I had my black Mini at Santa Pod !
Now it's a rusty pile of shit lol

Honda and vauxhall conversions are pretty easy now as most parts can be bought off the shelf.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
One is gonna be a rally car, and it's gonna be a highly tuned a series, over bore etc. The other is a limited edition so i'm gonna restore it to standard. i have a fancy and expensive flipfront but decided against it. And i decided against a vtec as i cant even drive yet lol, so gonna keep it cheaper

Hi folks now crimbo is over I will be cracking on with the upgrades for the mini, one of those is to beef up the old diff, its a 7" lsd standard 3.62.
Im going to fit a 3.38 crown wheel and pinion to bring the gearing roughly to the same as a standard sierra, my little 13" wheels are the cause of first gear being unusable.
I'm going to get the planet gears crown and pinion all shot peened to add a little strength, that just leaves the viscous which I will get beefed up.
That's the plan anyway.

little update
I got myself a 3.38 diff which isnt lsd and the output shafts are the push in type.
The plan is to use the crown wheel and pinion out of it and put it in mine which is lsd.
I might even get them shot peened to add a little extra strengh also an uprated viscous.
