Surely it would make practical sense to buy like.. an old 306hdi or something really cheap and economical for a grand or so and keep the escort for the weekends opposed to spending lots of your time in an effort to loose all your hard work for what is these days, very little money. Escorts dont break for that much!

Good sugestion thats what i did got a x plate 306 hdi as a daily driver and the thing is great runs on fumes get between 700 to 800 miles a tank. Had it remapped to 120 bhp and it goes alright for what it is, a cheap daily drive.

at this.So I didn't break her, nor did I use her this summer...I went French and bought this instead:
Not the fastest car in the world in a straight line, but show it some back roads and it can hold it's own, most importantly it's a right laugh.
The chap i bought the car off, Andy, owns http://www.mintalloys.co.uk/ and sorted us out with a great refurb on the Bonus' Superleggera's aswell.
If you're in the Beds area and need a refurb look them up, done a cracking job on the wheels. Can't reccomend them enough!
So I'll get some pics up of those when i get a chance, plan is to put them on the black RS for next summer
