Default 3.0s ford capri

hi guys just joined today gonna post up my build of a capri but since it took almost 2 years couldnt face typing it all over again so gonna copy it from another forum (just letting you know incase its confusing to follow lol)

unfortunatly i only started taking pics after i had striped the car so here goes. this was september 2008.
the day the car was being towed for paint.
like most of britain the credit crunch played real havoc with progress but fortunatly work is picking up so the build goes on .
this was the first few days work piecing it together
freshly painted winows going in

my dad checking his reflection

a wee side on pic (dont know why door and sill look bent)

more mates arrived to save the day

back end built with fresh bumpers

doors built matching passenger wing mirror fixed on

somebody get the dash wipes out lol

guess wats going in there ? (new engine mounts still to be fitted)

now where did that bolt go again ?

the heart goes in (specialised engines stage 4, 3.1 essex)

frontend built

one easy way to get the box in

any body know what this is off or model (type 9 ?)

hopefully these pics will have trebble webbers and burton rocker covers in them soon (money dependant)
wil update soon enough waiting on stainless manifolds being made then the build can continue .

bad news girlfriend picked up manifolds on sat and they were a shambels took a few pics .

phoned the guy and kicked up says hell refund me . a wont be crossing my fingers though
met up with a new guy tonight and he took some sizes etc just need to wait on him getting a price for new flanges etc made up

hi guys thought i should add this ,
about a year ago i started a wild goose chase lokking for someone who would reproduce a set of ancilary hoses in orange for me .
i contacted samco to be told they wouldnt do it for me ,
i then approched roose mtr sprt who could do them in almost any colour but refused to do them in orange. after many bribes they still refused lol
so i gave up hope for a while then i recived an email from samco to say they would consder it depending on the moulds etc
so i sent my own away and never heard a thing for months then got home to find one saying "your hoes are in the post" i cringed and asked how much it would cost me to be told they were free .! result
so not sure if its the first samco or the first orange ones but am wel chuffed what do yous think ?

due to the delay with manifolds , ithought i should get on with the brake change and repainting the underside and variouse other parts. not reaky sure what coulor to paint the legs was thinking silver and black but not sure if blue would look good any thoughts ?

decided to go black and silver heres a few of the gtr 280 kit fitted (front)

took a few in the sun too its coming on abit

thanks for all the comments people , time to revive the rear end i think

more discs coming soon

got the rear brakes sorted tonight then i hit a snag
they had sent the wrong bracket so called the guy up
and he couldnt have been more helpfull. so new bracket
in post soon a hope lol. CAPRI SPORT you should check
out some of there other disgnes for brakes and parts
they do some really nice kits and to be honest its pretty
simple to do

after all the hassel with the old manifolds and other pices i lost a little intrest for a while but the show must go on
so i orderd a set of manifolds from burton power .they are stainless steel and manufactured by a company called QUICKSILVER EXHAUSTS any one seen any of there work before ?
im a little egar to see them but itll take a few weeks
fingers crossed

great news they finally arrived and i must say they were actualy not too bad . so tried fitting them and they all fitted not too bad atall

as i said they are great although a bit pricey . the finish was pretty good although not quite brilliant so just dropped them off to a little place to polish them up for me guy knows his stuff and recons theyll be done by tommorow. also going to see about the rocker covers getting polished. however really fancied a set of burton covers not entirely sure yet on which to do (what yous thoughts)
picked them up from the polishers today . more than happy with the result . what yous think

cant wait finish up for two weeks on the 18th should get a fair bit done then .
will try and get brakes finished by then

well that pretty much us up to date now thanks for reading guys and all comments welcome and sorry for the 40 million pictures

Nice looking car

Have you thought about using a Swaymar Holley inlet ?

I had one fitted to my 3.0S and it transformed the car, they were originally quoted as giving a 30bhp increase

Good power and much more MPG than even a stock carb !

Mark

i have seen that car before, you must have brought it from a big asian fella called ash, he lives in slough, i had a little browse over this when i was picking up some 3 door bits from him, looked very nice and iirc had some jokey sticker in the back window or something
