Default 1976 Capri Cosworth, project naughty..:P

Thought I wanted to share my recent project with all of you..

The car is a 1976 Ford Capri 1.6s, Bought the car from a guy in Molde, he had been working on the car for about 8 years. When he suddenly had to sell without getting chance of finishing the car..

From when i picked it up

Stuffed my Lightning full with parts, along with filling the capri with parts..

Some randon picts before the job started..

Cosworth brakeassistant

Mocal oil remote and cooler system with thermostat

Complete rebuilt 2wd engine, with stage 3 setup

Some lovely fog lights..:P

Tinted windows..

Custom gearbox mounting

Then the job is on..
The rear hatch was rusted so desicion was to get rid of it and get a new one.
Lucky me broke the window when trying to take it out.

Mint turbospoiler.

Took of the bumper ect.

Got the car in the garage and on jack stands

Mounted vented brakes with spaced put calipers.

Rewired entire engine loom with techflex.

Cleaned up in wiring inside the car, removed alot of wiring, from old stereo ect.

Removed the tinting on the windows.

Mounted legal taillights.

Small damage under front light was fixed.

Mounted new vakuum piping

Made myselfe a new gearstick.:P

Bought brakekit on fleebay

Took out the old props and found out that they where not straight, so new ones 2pcs along with new lsd diff will be ordered.

Shotblastered alot of parts and got them painted.

New mouldings from CCI

Removed the "carpet" under the hood

Made all the piping for turbo, filter and intercooler, them painted them.

Latest picts of the engine, starting to see the end of the build.. :P

Then I bought new wheels, 8x15 and 10x15. Cant wait to get them and try them on..

Here`s the video from the engine was first started.. The man I bought it from had never started it because of alot of electrical problems..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gbw3JsHyOms

Hope U all like the reading..

Cheers..

Thanks for comments all...

I must add that this car will be ready for spring when first ford meet is on, and is going to be the same until next vinter when it then will be stripped and painted in Phanter Black.
Maybe also a rollcage will find its way..

Nice to see the tints removed, crappy tail lights removed, scruffy wheels gone, naff foglights in the bin, tasty engine bay etc. etc.

Shame it's LHD but such is life

Edit: LHD in Norway makes sense

Today i fitted a new fusebox under the dash, these will be working fans, instruments, gas pump ect...
Also sorted out alot of other wiring, main wire from rear battery to starter ect.
Think it turned out kinda nice, just need some labeling..

Thats the sad thing, I got a mail from Ebay, they had closed the account of the person I won them from, because he had been abused the account and sold item that never existed, lucky me I had`nt payed for them yet. So i am now in search for som new wheels..

Got my fuel pump bracket on friday, had to get it painted before fitting...

Cool project, bit different to see a yb in a capri, rather than an escort

Is your car quite a rare one? As they started the mk3 in 1977

Yesterday I took out the brakeassistant, to find thiiiiiis... Some surface rust and alot of holes, from the previous owner..

Sanded it down, a good wash and then painting..
Tomorrow i will plug all the holes and mount the assistant again.. Have also made wiring harness for the main and vakuumpump on the assistant so that one works..
[IMG]http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f322/caprisamlinga/ny%20capri/DSC_0022.jpg[/IM

Got mounted the fuelpump today, but missing the hose between pump and tank, will get a new one tomorrow.

Mounted the ecu again, this time with proper earth.

More update will come tomorrow..
