First turbo'd car i ever drove, My mate had one when we were about 18 (1993). I had a 1600Ghia Mk3 Escort at the time and thought that was fast until i drove the Uno. Soon as i drove it i had to have a Turbo'd car.
The Uno didn't last very long mind, My mate almost didn't either. He managed to roll it in to what is now McDonalds car park in Barry South Wales whilst racing his cousin.

Hi everyone!
I'm Marco, from Italy.
I'm looking for a nice Mk1 Fiat Uno (better if it's Turbo model) with steering wheel on the rigth side. It must not look like coming from Pimp My Ride! Something with possibly all original parts, doesn't matter if has some rusty and scratches outside. Also inside carpets and seats can be in bad conditions. I will have fun in fixing it part by part. The only request is that it must run fine beacuse in case I find one I'll come to UK this summer, I'll take it and drive it to Italy, so it must runs many miles you know!
Obviously also the price will be a matter of discussion. This is a small dream, and must cost small money, considering also all the way back to Italy!
Where can I search for such a middle-aged lady? ("Old lady" for a Mk1 it's not yet fair in my mind.)
Looking forward for your suggestions.
Marco.

Hi, well the cars is still in the garage, but it's not for sale, looks like it might finally be getting dragged out shortly!
I don't see any on the roads here and haven't for many many years, your best bet is the uk eBay site or carandclassic website, why do you want a rhd car, there must be some lhd ones going about in Italy still, and because of the climate they will be in far better condition too.
You could always look for a rhd UNO 45 here with a good shell and drive it back, then put in the turbo stuff when you get it back to Italy, might be easier finding a car over here if you consider that option.

Well here's an update....
It's still there.....
Just trying to find some space so I can get it moved to work on it and get it running. I am back in the UK on tuesday and I'd really like to get this out and start work on it.

True!
Well I moved house and focused on the saph, but I really really need to get this out and running again, even if it's just for a wash/service and a fire up.
Last time I checked it I had to bin the battery because it was knackered and wouldn't hold charge at all, and it would not fire up, I suspect the fuel pump has seized.
I need to be 100% comitted and prepared when i take it out of the lockup because all four brakes have seized so I cnnot just roll it back in again, it'll need a trailer and likely have to remove the wheels and see if i can free up the brakes otherwise i'll have to liteally pull it of the trailer again with a car.
I tried towing it out before and all that happened was the wheels dragged along the ground, good brakes but a light car!

only problem with reinstating cars that have been off the road for ages is some prick usually smashes into them/ steals them/ set on fire when youve just spent ŁŁŁŁ sorting them out

Any help you need Rog again just give us a shout,I had a black one back in the day C535ADE had some epic road races in it back in the day and repaired pretty much every problem they ever had as it was very unreliable!!!
Great fun when running though and really punch above their weight.
Brakes might be a pain on that as their rear calipers with the handbrake built in which I'd guess would need removing and literally hammering off but it should roll fine then.
Probably won't start due to crap fuel, these were from the 4 star era so unless there's a tank of fresh superunleaded in there with some octane booster.
You can try and get it running with the old deodorant in the airbox trick.

Thanks guys.
I'm still in Cameroon, but I leave tomorrow night, if I can actually get my saph out of the garage and away to get all the new parts fitted then I'll get the Uno over to the house.
I did try to put in a full can of super but it made no difference, the tank was totally empty before that so I don't think it's a fuel quality issue but i guess u never know with it sitting so long.
Need to change all the fluids and filters and hopefully give it a try again sometime soon.
Brakes are a mare, it has discs front/back and it is the rare anti-skid ABS model so a very sought after car, well where unos are concerned.

My old mk1 that i restored in 2002 went to santa pod many times in my recycled washing machine as my friends would say here's some pictures. I think i have a load of spares still up my mates farm.

I've a white mk1 (hence the username) that hasn't seen the road for, er 10-ish years! It still runs (very well!) but I doubt I'll ever find time to finish it. Very sad, but life moves on and I have bigger priorities.
Big spec engine, 8" wide black mo's with no offset, coil overs and 4 pots. Sadly never mapped or sprayed after extending the arches!

I did run a grey mk1 for years though, so I didn't miss out on what they had to offer.
