Default 317bhp 2wd sapphire cosworth

i bought a sapphire cosworth a little while ago

it was tidy, stage 3 engine, stack of history, etc
but it is still a 20 year old car so improvements can be made.

so when my turbo died i saw it as time to do some work
the first thing i did was remove some of the chrome from under the bonnet as i cant be arsed to clean it

then i fitted new front discs

while i was at it i had the arch liners out to clean the inner arches
and was quite happy with how tidy it is under there

ive replaced the chavvy alloy gear knob with a leather gti style one

then ive started to clean and repaint the underside

so im now up to date, over the next few weeks im hoping to get my new turbo and finish painting the underside

Nice looking car.

Very clean behind wheel arch liners.

Looks a nice car!! Did you use std black paint on the tanks? Been thinking of doing mine, but didnt want to keep doing it if the paint couldnt take the heat...

your old disks were on the opposite sides

make sure you fit the new ones the right way round ....... ie when braking the dust is moved to the outer part of the groove when disk rotates if you get my drift..

T-bolt clamps...Amazing stuff when they work.. shit when you undo them completely and try to get them back together!

Lookin well mate, Love the matt black bits, did you use VHT black at all or just matt black? painting chrome bits is a bastard as usually i find the paint to easily chip

What does your car run like with out the amal valve?

cheers

just used matt black from halfords, seems to be ok. but it marks very easy
think the alloy was easier to keep clean

car runs fine without the amal valve

and replaced the water temp sensor in the block with a new matt lewis one

i also tried fitting my new air box, but found it wont fit due to the intercooler and the turbo heatsheild

change of plan on the wheel front
after some advice from various people in the know, i decided to stick with 17s
this way i dont mess the handling up as much and i can buy tyres at reasonable money
so i bought these
