Aye mate, really fancy some Evolution seats (normally Cobra or Recaro that have those types) with the head wrap around.
But we'll see tomorrow when I fit the cage, if it looks great with the back seats in or without. If not, then buckets are going in too

Well the cage is finished and looks great IMO, big difference in the corners. Can't wait to see the difference on track. Just needs some false flooring and carpeting between the fuel tank and the front carpet and it'll be sound. Here's a few pics from Monday's developments....

So as the day went on, at 4pm Monday I decided to change the oil. But for whatever reason, I just didn't focus on where the jack was and the fact it was slipping. It ended up falling on the front half of the sump, bending it like a banana! So the whole front end needed to be removed to get the sump off that night. Luckily it had only bent and not crushed any of the crank or anything drastic.
So I drove back to Wales this morning to pick up a spare sump off my good friend John Coles, dropped it off at a lad who does alloy welding and he welded the old breather sump boss off my old sump. Then it was a case of finding a gasket, which seem to be like gold dust around here Anyways, by 6pm today it was running and back to normal....mad 2 days!

I know that's why I didn't comment on it untill you'd finished, also didn't see you were making it nice box bolt in sections untill the end.
Looks good, just see so many people wacking half cages in that are more show than go, at least now yours will do what they're supposed to if it did end up upside down.
So yer, was a compliment lol

Sound Aye deffo wasn't going to bolt it through the wheel arch like so many do, this baby's is built to last and save me life. Before I washed it this morning, I went for a hard drive and it cocked one rear wheel up in the corner Awesome!
@ Gus
Aye was thinking about that, but I keep having them repowdercoated so would go through a lot of stickers
But like you say, that's it now, I'm mega happy with it and I'm finally finished with it. It's simply maintaining it now

Had a good look round the car at central day today.
the engine bay looks loads tidier
Not so keen on roll cage as its changed the standard look of the car :-(
And rear cage mounts dont look like they'd stand up to much stress imo.
What gauge steel did you make them out of?

They can't be any stronger mate, the box sections are even braced inside and they're made with the same 6mm thick plates the base plates are made from....not even the additional plating on the struts AG made on the rear is that thick! They're much better than what people normally do, which is bolting them straight through the inner arch It's built to last, no problems.
As for the look, with the boot closed it's not so obvious really. Well, it is, but it's a double take jobbie due to the colour. Either way it's just the interior, exterior is staying the same. With a car like this you need a roll cage one way or the other, it's just common sense. Plus it's now more nimble and stable in the corners Bucket seats are next and then I'm REALLY done
P.S. you should have said HELLO!

Was I sitting on one of the camping chairs with shades on looking like death? It was a rough "catch up" drinking session from 10pm for me and the master plan was my demise Don't worry though, I'm always up for a chat
Nah mate, it deffo ain't going anywhere. Thought if I used huge pipework, then the mounting points needed to be even stronger still. Overkill of course, but if it saves me then cool I did sign up eventually but the pod cuing is just too much of a drain...plus 3 Fiesta's out of 6 cars on our stand died on strip, so I got paranoid

Nah you're alright Graham, it was good to see you. Most people were in a rush today I think anyway, a bit of a surreal show this year, just didn't have the usual feel to it. But still, hope to see you sometime again this year....if the boss lady let's you out to play
