Look at coley's thread Al we've modded our's so that the shafts that the wiper arms bolt to are now 180 degree from there original placing.
Now they are closer to the bulk head instead of being closer to the engine (if that makes any sence )

But that won't effect the throw of the arm towards the lead mate, that's solely to stop it fouling the brake fluid reservoir. I figure something

Doubt it, the throw of the arms complete the cycle in the bulkhead as they are now, no room to adjust further back as suggested. I'll work something out, no patience left today after everything else

@ Whizzisat114

No chance unfortunately, can't raise any higher. Not the biggest of issues, will sort it out

Nope, the linkage is off the car at the mo. Can't do much else with it, I'll just get a shorter lead. Don't think it was originally designed for my spec, just a bog standard runaround engine

What's different ten ?
The lead's bigger than standard? or have the new mount's lifted the engine up?
could you have a touch machined off them?

No need to do bodge jobs like that Engine is at the height its always been, but the linkage is using all original mounts and cleared shorter leads. What's changed are the motorsport leads that protrude more than what were there previously.

Lead, singular But I have another idea which might work in conjunction with something else. Have a crack, otherwise I have another option

I think you may find that those engine mounts youve been using are actually taller than standard cosworth ones.... measure them against OE escort cosworth items.

Nope, their the same as are the one's I'm using now. Its a simple case of the lead having at least an extra 10mm height which I had clear with the old crap leads. Ball ache but there we go

Told you, no bodge jobs to make them fit, even if it is precise

I'll just sort a different lead, too tight in the bulk head to push the wipers back

Ah fun

Nice idea But I think the other option for the spec I have is a nice custom lead, which will iliminate the issues I have now.

But then again, I have one other option I want to try with the setup I have and then I'll call it quits and conform with the last option

How's yours coming along Coley?

What's wrong with them then jimbo? only good for so much boost? do they limit the power to the sparkplug's? does the spark get blown out ?

I don't know tbh I've never used ka plugs, but they're made for a 50bhp na engine, I could see them not keeping up and causing misfires!

The motorsport leads we use and always advice to use are brilliant never give any problems

I guess it's a case of sticking to what you know?!

I was talking about leads sorry!

If they work fair enough! Just were going to be giving alans car around 30psi mid range and they're not the easiest to change over on a hot engine lol hence me saying go for motorsport ones!
