Well there is a house but the house has 3 garages, both away from the house, the plot I am bidding on has its own drive and gates, it has parking for about 4 cars and a small double garage that I would plan to extend. It is opposite my house. I believe the original developers had it left over and tagged it on to one of the houses. The lady that owned it has died and I bought a flat and garage off the daughter before, I have suggested that she sells this house and I buy the plot. I don't want to buy the house to let it or to then sell it as it would need more than 25% deposit to make the rental stress test work and then there is an extra 3% stamp duty levy on buy to let's.
The original owner was a mechanic and ran a small business there, I believe there may be a pit in there too. I would run an individual power supply in there.

On your advice I bought a little Myford ML7 lathe, hope to pick it up later this week and will spend the evenings watching the how to guides on youtube.

Random YouTuber making a few quid from people's build thread it seems!
I will do a better video at some point
Hoping to get the car out next week and change the filters and brake fluid then take her for a spin as I have not driven it since fitting the new box and flywheel after ford fair last year
Has crossed my mind to sell it but really would like a bit more use out of it first

Sell it? Did you prefer building than driving? Keep it.

I think the building is the best part for me but I think it's just that I haven't had the seat time in it I wanted just due to being busy since I finished it,
It doesn't need to be sold, but would release money for other ventures
I've been looking at the Brian james c4 trailers so maybe after my wedding is done in August il get one and then have more freedom to take it places without needing 3 days off to pick up and drop off hired trailers before and after a track day

Yeah, it does need to be simple or you won't use it, any track car has to be able to be driven to the track for me.

Yeah I agree
Don't get me wrong I do love driving it, just since ford fair I have not really had the time but I will hopefully soon,
Doing a lot of work on other people's cars has kept me busy with regards to tinkering with track toys etc
Looking at getting a Brian james C4 trailer, have hired 1 before and it was lovely, nice and wide and low so can drive straight on and off with no messing with wood etc
Will get the boost map finished as well this year as we have only done to 1.4bar and need to do up to 2 bar or maybe 2.2bar

I like the covered BJ trailers as they kind of make a mobile garage if you have space for one and help keep the wrong eyes off them but they need to be very secure as they are ideal to nick with the car in it.
My hedge cutting guy had an expensive hydraulic tipper one stolen, it was hitched to a ground bolt but nothing else, he replaced it but has done nothing more to protect it, I was talking to him about DNA water and data tags but I could see he had already switched off. I would have had all that plus an alarm and wheel clamps etc...

Amazing build mate, truly inspiring. I've read all pages and identified myself with it as I'm bulding my own track car (a 1.6 ka) and looking forward to doing a lot of things by myself.

Well it's been just under 8 months since I last started the car so thought its about time I got round to flow testing the pumps and changing the filters
As said it hasn't been started for 8 months and I left the Varley red top 30 connected but the kill switches shut off but more than likely flat anyway so took my jump pack but to my surprise when I pushed the kill switches and ignition switch I still had power and the pumps primed and so hit start and it fired up first time! Couldn't believe it lol
Anyway I removed the filters and changed them and will re fit them tomorrow maybe and fill it with fresh fuel ready for its mot in a couple of weeks
Pump filter screens looking good and flow still good
New filters fitted and pumps re fitted ready to re fit to the car
Hoping to take it out to finally test the new flywheel if I get a chance soon as I still haven't driven it since I fitted it with the replacement gearbox

That's a good result after being parked up for that time. A testament to your work I guess. Are they just standard Ford fuel filters?

Also later this year or early next year I'd like to swap the suspension as that is probably the biggest downfall of the car not being at all adjustable
I want to try and find some 3 way adjustables to replace the current old gravel spec group a units but don't have the money to buy the off the shelf Reiger or dynamics ones so I may go to Gaz shocks with one of mine and see what they can make me, or I know BAD have done some like mine before and I already emailed them but got no reply so will ring and ask them nearer the time

I was told by Dave Wedge not to use GaZ as they were the bottom rung on the ladder. Jonfoc on here can help you out at Leda.
I would love to go for top end ohlins bespoke service or exettc stuff and I know they would be great but Ł4k to Ł6k does a lot of other things.

Had the car back out again at the weekend for a bit of a check over,
Upgraded the ECU firmware as it was about 10 versions old, this in turn meant the map needed tweaking in a few places so we went out and did some idle and cruising mapping in the 30deg C heat which was fun lol
Also drained out all the old racing blue brake fluid and clutch fluid and have re filled and bled the system with Performance Friction 665 fluid which is meant to be 10 times better
Today I also removed the mocal oil pump and 6 row cooler for the rear diff as the diff oil has never got hot enough for the pump to cut in so thought I may as well take it off
Still loving everything about the car and have always wanted one main item to finish it off so I have been talking to PGS Transmissions in Finland about their 5 speed straight cut sequential gearbox, I'm 99.9% sure il go for this box but it won't be till the end of this year as I need to send my casing off to them to be machined and the sequential set up fitted so want to wait till winter
So hopefully some good upgrades to come for next year

Could you not go closer ratio and get 6 or 7 speed in there, I love the idea of banging through the gears with a tiny drop in revs, it would be like a super bike.
For how I use my Pug, I think I could have put up with the noise and chunterring behaviour of sequential but don't know if would have ruined it as a road car? I can listen to music and sat nav in mine at the moment.

Here are the details and the ratios of the PGS 5 speed sequential and with my 3.9 diffs should be perfect, I'd go for the 5 speed sequential version
Details from PGS
Here is some info regarding our Nissan Skyline GTR Sequential gearsets:
The standard gear ratios for the 5-speed sequential gearbox:
1. 2,56
2. 1,65
3. 1,216
4. 1,0
5. 0,825
The standard gear ratios for the 6-speed sequential gearbox:
1. 2,58
2. 1,915
3. 1,56
4. 1,21
5. 1,0
6. 0,783
We also have version for high revving engined cars.
Standard gear ratios for that version:
1. 2,43
2. 1,833
3. 1,42
4. 1,21
5. 1,0
We have also custom ratios available for all the versions if you prefer some other ratios.
The custom ratios are 300€ + tax per sprocket pair when ordered together with the gearset.
The pricing for the versions:
- 5-speed dog engagement gearset (4500€ + tax)
- 5-speed sequential gearset (5900€ + tax)
- 6-speed sequential gearset (6900€ + tax)
If you'll purchase the gearset for your company etc. you'll pay the tax in the UK.
If you buy it as a private person you'll need to pay the tax in Finland and in that case the tax is 24%.
The standard version is a helical version but we can also make you a straight cut version if you prefer that.
The gearset includes:
- All gears
- Billet input shaft
- Billet main shaft
- Billet counter shaft
- HSF (Hybrid Shift Fork) shift forks (for which we give a lifetime warranty)
- Dog rings and necessary dog engagement parts
- The complete sequential mechanism and drum
- Gear stick with the reverse lock
- Gear display + required parts and wiring for that.
- Billet center plate
- The necessary high quality bearings
All the parts are made of the very best available motorsport quality material and we use the very best available heat treatment methods to ensure the very best durability.
Regarding sending your casing to us:
Yes, we will need your casing because it requires some machining to fit the sequential gearset in.
We only need the front part and the piece that is bolted to the casing inside the bell housing.
Please, don't hesitate to ask any question.
Thank you very much!
Best regards,
Olli
