Got some boost done today on new solenoid set up but only up to 1.4bar and conditions were bad with bad fog and visibility of about 50meters lol
Also after 1.4bar the thermostat has stuck open so ect dropped massively! Will see if this has unstuck tomorrow if not I have a new 82d stat I will fit at brands

Well just to make things more tedious the water pump went tonight lol
Developed a leak from this small hole which everyone says is the signs of bearings gone!
So even more annoying is my pump is modified to suit my 10long stud set up
But hopefully Tommy @ FMS will have a new 1 machines for me by lunchtime tomorrow
Seems my last few problem with this pump and the tensioner are down to rust/corrosion issues due to having the engine built about 4 years ago then leaving it sitting in a garage for 3 years
Never mind, hopefully back together tomorrow night

Looked absolutely stunning at brands, didn't disappoint me one bit. Proper built car with great attention to detail.
Sounded bloody good on the track too.
Well done Mark.

Agree with Gadget looked epic on track and was spitting some nice flames at the end of the straight
Looks even better in the flesh than the pics
Also you brother in laws? Van sounded awesome and was flying round and after a few laps he came in and said it wasnt even full throttle

Thanks mate,
Car was good all day apart from a bad miss after getting it off the trailer due to a loose pin in the map sensor connector which was sorted straight away,

Cheers, was hoping someone would have got a lucky snap of a flame shot but no luck lol, well happy with it and as said I didn't need to touch it all day, just checked oil and water when we got there then that was it
As for Daves van it is savage but with a medium boost setting he got black flagged for noise so was having to go a bit easier on the loud pedal, he had no issues but wants to improve the handling as he was fast on the straights but people caught him easily on the bends,
Roll on Snetterton next Monday

You were lucky to find the loose pin. How did you track that down?
Glad to hear it is going well, how are you finding the ets pro? Any comments?

The loose pin was spotted the day before when mapping some boost as there was abnormal spikes on the map sensor reading in the data logging so I checked the connector and found the female pins had all backed out! And when I went to get the car noise checked it was missing badly whilst trying to rev it then it cut out a couple of times, so I checked connector and 1 had backed out again, I guess due to vibration etc so I removed all 3 pins, pry'd out the locking tabs more and re fitted and was mint all day after that
As for the ETS controller, I had it in auto mode and forgot all about it really to be honest, so did not try different settings on auto and manual etc which is a shame.........
BUT......... I am at Snetterton this coming Monday so I plan to have a good play with the settings to see the differences and compare

All in all it was an awesome day at brands although we lost 3 hours in the morning due to Fog !
But as usual I hired a truck, took every tool I could possibly need and every possible fluid and I did not touch the car once all day after the initial connector issue first thing lol
Better to be prepared though I say,
As for the cars performance and handling.......
At 1.4bar boost it is quick but not too quick, it's a good starting point and we plan to go up to 2.2bar max so I look forward to that,
Currently on the cal switch I have 1bar and 1.4 bar settings
As for handling I forgot about the ETS controller settings so will try more on Monday at Snetterton
On low speed corners like "Druids" the front of the car was washing out like under steer on a front wheel drive car, now I'm not sure if this was loss of front grip or too much rear pushing the car on !
On the higher speed corners the car was very good and felt settled, as before the front was just slightly looser than the rear so you could easily feel when the grip was gone without the back coming round at all, but I'd like the back to be a bit more over steery first I think so before anything else I will play with the ETS controller at Snetterton and see what difference that makes,
The tyres I was on we're the federal rsr and to be honest at the temperatures seen on the day I had pushed them to there level off max grip, in the summer they would be better and more confidence inspiring but I really needed full slicks to push any harder so next year will see a second set of wheels for sure,
The brakes were fine, nice pedal feel but I do not yet have the confidence in them, nothing to do with the car or brakes themselves it's just my own confidence on how good they actually are and how late I can brake needs building on lol
The skyline gearbox was excellent also,
Seemed the harder I drove it the quieter it was lol, but flat out in 4th and 5th it was pretty easy to beat the syncros and grind it a little, not much but the gear change needs to be a little gentler it seems, other wise it took the abuse happily for now lol
Fingers crossed it does for Snetterton too

Sounds like your front end is definitely pushing. (power on push?) Can't quite remember what adjustability you all have on your car so I will make a couple suggestions.
For Big Changes:
-Lower Front Ride Height or Raise Rear
-soften front roll bar or make the rear harder
-you can also go to softer front springs or Harder rears but I would only do this after you run out of tuning room on the other two
For Small Changes:
-you can start playing with the bump and rebound on the shocks
Try to make changes one at a time so you know what makes the biggest difference.
Slicks will definitely keep the car more consistent and easier to make adjustments for.
Can't wait to see the track videos!

Get a decent instructor to go out with you before you mess with the set up too much, I found that I needed to modify my driving style to stop under steer, my car was fine. I do not know your level of experience so please take this the right way.
The newer I was the better I thought I was, the better I got then I realised I knew much less.
I think the car would also push on a lot if all the way up at 200psi.

Random data log shot from brands
Eop sensors a little noisy and has 1 random drop off that I think is signal not actual pressure drop as it's extremely quick drop and back up!
It's good to be able to look back over everything though
I want to add in a gps for vehicle speed too

I totally agree but Not my choice mate
Booked a truck to hire and they had to cancel booking last minute so too late to find a replacement
Don't want to miss this day as quite a few friends going too and last day the car will go out until next year sometime

If his car weighs say 1200kgs, a good car trailer is 650kgs unladen total 850kgs, that makes the Mondeo overweight at 100% of capacity.
Just buy a vehicle that is big enough to do the job for safetys sake.

I have both, Kia sorrento can tow up to 2.5ton, and a SEAT Alhambra, can tow up to 2tons.
That way it just keeps me in on the people carrier, but plenty on the 4x4, its just not worth getting pulled for the fines are huge nevermind the safety of it.
did it once years ago, so unstable over 100% mam and I have a class one licence for up to 44 tons.

I had a trailering moment a few years ago, 406 estate, mates trailer and my 3dr on the back. the first time i borrowed it i towed the car 200 miles with no issues at all.
a couple of years later i borrowed the trailer and used the 406 with the 3dr on it, this time however the thing was soo unstable that i couldnt go over 50mph other wise it started to snake, i found this out after overtaking a lorry on the M4, - he wasnt happy! i pulled over to check everything over and couldnt see what was wrong so carried on slowly. had to do 150 miles to take it for mapping, got to about 5 miles away from where i was going only to go over a crest on a duel carrage way and the trailer decided to exit stage left...
propper opposite lock on the old 406 as the fucker pendulum down the road, it went so far left the trailer hit the rear bumper and bent the exhaust, and so far to the right i clipped the central reservation and broke the light cluster off the trailer, then it went left again onto the grass and i had visions of it rolling... but it didnt - i just shat myself...
i was glad when they couldnt finish the mapping and i couldnt take the car home!
turns out my mate had fitted a spare wheel the front of it so i couldnt get the car forward enough to balance it by about 2 foot.
it also bent the hitch... so that was an expensive experience by the time i had replaced what was damaged...
i havnt trailered a car since!

Well Monday at Snetterton was an eventful one,
Lesson 1 of today is "Always make sure you put your bonnet pins back in before driving" !!!
My own silly mistake
I was not bothered about what happened as luckily the fiesta has a very small bonnet so it only smashed the screen, didn't touch the roof or pillars so lucky really,
The really annoying thing was I was let down with the truck I was hiring the day before so I drove it there which meant I spent all day from lunch onwards on the phone trying to sort the insurance replacement with a load of idiots on the phone who could not note the fact I was not at home and did not want it done later in the week! Twats
Eventually managed to source 1 via insurance so only £75 but had to drive into Norwich but it got it sorted
Lucky really as I am a member of the RAC so went to get it recovered but they refused as they said a smashed screen is an accident and not a breakdown so that was that, won't be renewing with them again!
Before the screen incident the car was going really well and I was loving it, I did get a video so will upload later this week,
Car drove 100 miles there,
Did 3 hard sessions
Drove 155 miles home via national windscreens lol
All went well except I cooked the alternator lead on the way home! Noticed the battery voltage randomly dropping out so thought alternator had packed up but carried on to get home and on closer inspection
Melted right through including the ring terminal so I reckon I cooked it on track and it finally broke on the way home! But as it got me home I class that as a success
All in all an eventful day but pissed off about the lack of time on track due to my own silly mistake which hopefully il never make again ,
Will try and get a new bonnet asap but that was its last outing this year anyway

Seen on facebook mate, bit of a pisser but damage wise could have been a lot worse on the wallet.
at least the car was going ok while you could, but looks like you would have had issues with the alternator if you had stayed out on track, but then i guess you could have repaired that too lol.

That's the two of us who did that then. Gutted for you.
I am about to drop my carbon fibre bonnet off for paint as it totalled my metal one, did the screen and put a dent in the roof. I have ordered some "remove before flight" flags to put on the bonnet pins when I open the bonnet, I just hope I can get in to the habit. I have toyed with a micro switch alarm that sounds the whole time the bonnet is open.

Maybe it depends on the level of cover you have or something but I've been recovered by RAC after an accident before. I T-boned another car at a cross road, completely wrecking my front end, it definitely wasn't drivable so I rang RAC to get it home rather than ending up in an impound somewhere. RAC had no issue at all doing that.
