Wee side project i'm doing, few of you might remember i was sellin a tidy red mk4 XR3i recently, and i told the boy to let me know if he was ever sellin it cos it was a cracking wee car, to cut a long story short he needed to sell it so I got it back last week.

Step 1, buy the car back






Step 2, get bored with cvh




Step 3, buy 130 spec 1800 zetec from mate and chuck it in





Planned to use XR box but had a bit of damage inside so now using a 5spd box from an Escort 1.3 Eclipse :mrgreen:

Cant do much more the now cos the conversion plates I bought (cheers JPA) havent arrived yet - these mean i use the original inlet to make it a lot easier. Also waiting for the engine mount and 4-branch to be modded to suit zetec.

Hoping it'll go well with this setup - thinking about stripping rear seats and that out too

yeah mate using efi inlet, would have been running by now by now but the conversion plates havent arrived expected them this time last week.

i've got a 130spec 1.8 zetec and most of the necessary bits to do the swap for my orion, i just can't afford the flippin insurance to do it

How noticeable is the power ? considering a boggo 1.8 zetec is the same as a 1.6 efi cvh on the hp charts..

much torquery mate, and far nicer to drive! Feels a good bit quicker too for me but i'm used to my S2 RST so still feels a little bit slow

I take it you are not breaking it then? i would have bought the running gear for my mk4 cab. I will however watch this on ebay and see how it goes.
