glasurit is 10000 times better than lessonal.. lessonal is classed as a trade paint! piss thin and full of solvent..

obviously thats imo and dont want to start a paint war on here, when I have used it in the past I found it awful stuff and very hard to work with.. in my eyes Standox or Spies hecker (Standox sister brand) is the only paints to be using..

Oh , tbh I think it will aswell, if its a paint reaction you won't be able to stop it without bare metalling it again sadly as it's just eaten into the other paint.

Would be nice to see it finished, Hopefully it will.

He had a water hose fail and I expected to find overheating damage, I did find some problems to do with that but the big surprise was that the big ends in 3 rods had spun, this killed the crank and those rods. It would have been making a horendous noise! Also the R&D gearbox was in a bad way too

thats petes problem, he drives it HARD with no care at the time to the outcome and wont back off until the car actually comes to a halt, he had been doing 7k launches as well, and the gearbox had to come out after the first session because of main shaft bearings were shot

lucky he has the ultima to play with while you fix the cossie, is it still being sold when fixed do you know? or was it just heat of the moment anger when it broke lol

Whatever went wrong certainly wasnt Martin's fault so why should he be out of pocket cause Jacko didnt get the job right?
Wether that be cause Jacko picked the wrong materials, or because Jacko used them wrong is irrelevant, its still not fair martin being out of pocket.
If it was an issue with the paint, that thats between jacko and the paint supplier, its nothing to do with Martin surely?

I think Jacko has only stated the price as people where of the opinion he must have enough money in the job to do it again. But he hasnt , wihich is unfortunate . As a small builder i have also made the od bad decision on a price and then been bit in the arse by remedial work .

The car defo had a lot more than bonett and wings bare metald as i seen it hapen. The paint job looked well , just a real shame .

Hope it ends well, i think a refund would suffice .

The car can't be noisy so I'm trying fully cryogenically treated std internals, not sure how well it will hang on but lets see.

Any idea how much it would cost to have the gearbox internals treated?

Cheers,Rick

The blue ring labeled 'blisters', they are obviously pushing up into the black so its in the primer.

The guy who's looking at for for me says that its water in the primer on the test part we have played with, which means the Glasurit isn't the fault on that part. Have not sanded any other areas yet.
