Cheers for the comments guys

2.0 Zetec Is tempting, however I may Tune the 1.6 Zetec SE with a set of Shawspeed SS4 Cam Shafts, possibly with an SS3 inlet Cam and SS4 Exhaust. Those together with the exhaust and a good map will see me around 145bhp, which will be quick enough.

If I get really greedy, I'll use a 2.0 Duratec, as there much lighter than a Zetec E I have heard

Yeah the bodykit is from a Mk5 Zetec S, It set me back about £70 for skirts and rear bumper, I already had the front bumper. I got a bloody bargain!

And thanks for positive comments

liking the project mate! Ive walled a mk4 fiesta a while back which is full of audio but he wants me to do more work to it...

his has the 1.25 litre engine to...how hard was it for the 1.6 zetec conversion? what bits were needed? what gearbox? management? etc etc from quotes he has had, the conversion is meant to be MASSIVE - one company wanted the complete front end of a donor vehicle to swap bits??

also, the Zetec S kit...will it fit straight on or are there modifications that were also needed? I notice your not running a front splitter or something?

I do apologise is anything has been covered before

For the conversion you will need the 1.6 engine obvs
Engine bay loom
Internal loom (if its an early Fiesta, we had to do it, but looking at the later MK4' it seems you dont need it)
ECU and Transponder from a Zetec S - You will need the same ECU from the car the loom came from.
Fuel lines needed modding, as some of the connectors were different.

Gearbox - we used the 1.25 'box

I think that was about it, all the mounts etc are the same.

ZS kit, bolt straight on, although you will need to cut some of the front bumper to get it to sit right for the lights.

And Evey has cut the splitter bit off the bumper as it was snapped anyway!

Hope this helps!

As Rob has said

Just trim the bump strip ti fit snugly to the mk4 headlights

The 1.6 uses the standard IB5 'box (already in mk4/5 fiestas and pumas) I used my existing 1.25 gearbox

You use the same mounts, but you will need the 1.6 loom, aswell as ECU, transponder and key chip

And a little fiddle with the Fuel Lines in the engine bay, as the Fuel rail is a different design.

Great mod though, Good revvy engines

If your going through all that trouble to swap engines and looms though, you might want to look into the 1.7 Puma engine.

You get a Steel Crank (iirc) which means a stronger bottom end, and with the puma 1.7 you get VCT and around 123bhp as standard
