Default Xr2 rebuild and mods (revised)

About 4 months ago.i bought this 2 owner car ,totally original, never kept in a garage , from sunny scotland...51,000 original milage backed up with full history ford mostly.
Its interior, plastics and engine, etc, are spotless i knew when i bought it it needed a fair bit of work but it wasnt until it was stripped that we realised the extent of the rot..
Iam doing most of the work at my pals body shop ,so hence the progress is not always as quick as i,d like as i have to fit in around his and my own work...
The plan is, standard to look at ( ford spec paint and striping) but with some performance upgrades , without spoiling its original design.. I look forward to any comments..or advice fellow members can offer

Most motor factors can get wings, front panels and sills etc.. Its things like inner bays, boot floors etc which are getting harder to find.

Also pop on XRTWO.com mate, few people on there would love to follow this work!

Mine are a bit cheaper than that. But you gotta accept things have gone up in price due to current climate etc

Kept looking at the engine pictures thinking those DCNF's don't look anything like mine, then worked it out.

Not that it really matters, other than you'll burn your hands when setting them up, but your DCNF's are fitted backwards.

Thats the way they came fitted up on the manifold straight from another guys car, (Shandylegs) has already posted that they are mounted back to front, and I,ll probably burn my hands setting them up....
I bought the whole engine off the lad just for the top end and carbs, cam, vernier etc,
and judging by how black the pistons where I don,t think he even bothered setting them up..I don,t think he really had a clue, thats why I stripped the head and completly and rebuilt it ..

Thanks for pointing that out guys......I,ll swap them round...Iam going to get another weber carb manual ( like i did last time)..and tune and balance them, and once its complete and running it,ll be straight off to be put on the rolling road..
