BEEFY'S s1 cos- tues 1-5-2012 Project now for sale , breaking -
ok folks , here goes !!
the names beefy , some of you on here may know me , hopefull a few more will by the end of the build ,
just want to give a big shoutout to all the other lads whos resto threads have made me so eager to undertake this project ,
ok so lil introduction ,
as i said the names beef , i live in middlesbrough cleveland , member of the cleveland rsoc, part of the furniture and genral ford nut ,
ive owned a series 1 and a well specced s2 , theys both gone the journey and when the oppertunity to build my dream car came along i took it !!
so heres , the car -
just like to give a big big thanks to a couple of people at this point, fisrt of all biglee as without him i wouldnt have the shell,
also phillys2
as this poor sod's had to put up with the shell being stored in his garage the last 8 moths or so lol ,
also rsturbowhite aka graham for shifting the car for me to its new home lol ,
now to introduce the key roleplayers in the build ,
first up we have jacko , fooking hates camera's lol ,
but he's the owner and man behind blueoval garages ,
what the bloke dnt know about bodywork ,rs's , and restorations ain't worth knowing
secondly , his right hand man and me best mate karl ( aka the mad mechanic )
top welder /fabricator/mechanic/engine builder/and rs encyclopidea
between them i honsestly dont think you could find two more skillful, knowldgeable , enthusiastic, people when it comes to the ford scene and restoring rs's and fords in genral !!!! (imo) and im lucky enough to have them as mates and willing to help me !!!
----------------------------------------------------------
the plan for the car is , cosworth power rear wheel drive , series one kit, with moulded bumpers , and not sure on a colour or wether to have a rear roll cage or full interior , but wee'l get to that further down the line lol ,
few more pics ,

save some money , you dont need uprated rods , they are good well over 500 mate.balanced and arp bolts mind
Swedish plenums are a fad , not my mate but another well known mapper /tuner dont like em either ,reasons i forget but uneven mix comes to mind.
Would defo long stud it though, money you save on the rods i would invest in the long stud mate.
Hoping to have my new engine in for june/july time , but like your self no rush and no quater spared , thinking uprated box now too.

well i have a set of rods sat there so i may take your advice on that fella, i know what your saying on the inlets but i do like form and function , and well it will still do what i want it do
was speaking to martin at reyland the other week and he advised long studs ,
who did your tall ,glasses wearing friend use to do his machining ?

still looking into the porting , ,alot of people say its not needed upto 450 , may let karl give the ports a clean through ,
havent looked into the long studs yet , will ask amac in northallerton if they can do it , though they dont list it

Has that engine bay already been done for the conversation?
I think i might use jacko to paint mine once i have my cage fitted but its a proper mission to get there tho.

yes miller , the conversion was already done when we go the shell ,
however , jacks got most the measurements already , + mines there for any referance , and there well up to the task
althought its build to accept a modified 4x4 rear beam ( i also have a 2wd one ) it will be getting fitted with a brom/zoo style lateral link rear end,
one for ease , but more for the adjustability of the track and with of the rear end etc , along with the front having adj tca ,comp struts , top mounts , i should be able to put it all where i want it ,
theres nowt worse than cossied s2s with the weels 3 inches clear or the arches , looks fooking garbage !!

nope he sends it out bud.
spec will be similar to yours , as you say not 100% decided, .
Head is being done for 650bhp, got a nice standard crank, ballanced rods fly , front pully.cosie pistons ???? still to be sorted 200 block fully long studed.
Head is a mint 4x4, getting well fettled, springs, new valves,
going to take a while lol
