Only looking for some info on rear beam and how too improve the handling on my own DJM converted cossie 4x4 into a 1986 toyota corolla ( started nearly 15 yrs ago...and thought it's bout time to finish it..!!!! Lol ) and ended up here..
I've sat and watched guys repair old Aston martins with fabrication skills I could only dream of, and you guys r up there. Really top stuff.

lol

few pics of todays bits, nowt flash but all needed ,

loom overbraid , as im using a modified series 2 loom for interior and lights ect , and separate loom for ecu , its all getting braided either way

so got this

roughly a meter of each , 2 mtrs of some - sizes from 4mm id to 50mm id ..

airline blower - gargae getting dusty lol

m8 pan head stainless hex bolts and washers , same as what hold the front top mounts in , needed for the rears as there on route

p clips , will become apparent later in the build

new h4 style bulb fittings ,

if anyone knows where i can get new sidelight and indicator fittings ?

grommets of various sizing , holed and complete

and my lil find of the day !

these nylon washers in black ,

as you can see there around 15mm od at the bottom radiused up and ideal for a m4-5 hex bolt , so these will be holding the body kit on with the rivnuts , rather than a small washer or pop rived that stresses the kit and cracks it ..

also got meself a lil showplate made up ,

hard to really say mark , dont want someone to then read and copy if you get me ,

its nothing such as mods re the fab work , the way the cars been done is perfect as is imo , more on the cosmetic side ,

few holes that wont be needed could of been filled , would of liked to make the old girl a tad wider lol , we did chat about hand fabbed wide arches whist still retaining the body shape sort of widening the kit 2 inches per side , possably a doorhandle swap , rear diffuser setup ect ,

but spesh a bit of a stickler for leaving the exterior as ford intended lol .....

i mean there all still feasable at some point in the cars life , but i guess you have to draw the line somewhere and just build it lol ,

have had thoughts of when its done featured and driven for a year ov getting spesh to fab the wide kit , and sticking a v8 in there , with 12 j rears for traction lol ,

lil update ,

shells steadying away , slowly working thru the prep of all the parts for paint ,been held up slightly with getting sorted for the upcoming arrival ,

feeling i was a little stressed , anne marie decided to treat me

my new front stoppers

there ex porsche carrera gt cup car rear 4 piston brembos .

and 330 mm x 32 ap fish hook style discs ..

should be enough to slow the old girl ??

and the cool touch is there the ones with the optional ceramic pistons

dont you just love ceramic lol !!!

anyway , got the pads with them , they just need modding - also got two large billet discs to go with , ideal size for machining into bells ,

so daz aka cragrats going to send me his 2wd bells n brackets, ill mock them and if they fit ok , ill have mine made up but with the 5x112 pcd

shame they need repainting black or grey , - blues nice on the eye ...

but not on the car lol !

Cool the pads do stick down quite a bit on the rear caliper, but they do run a 330mm disk standard so shouldnt need that much
