todays update
me and spesh got cracking around 12 today , plan was to get the bay in its final filler primer stage , then to leave it go off tonight and tomorrow whilst we are at AUTOSPORT
with wenny and the boys ,
anyway , piccys
knocked back all the spotwelds on the front panel , there seemed to be a little roughness on the ed coat ,
gave it a coat of red , but we still wernt happy it was smooth enough ,
so small da and 320 pad
alot smoother now , and given a coat of red
they were only small but annoying lol
couple shots of the wings ,
can see the spotwelds
wing tops were then 320'd ready to mask up
and the scuttle was sanded and scotched back
and all areas given a dusting of red oxide to coat any bare areas
car was then prepped for filler primer ,
first off its soft edged foamed up the wings , were not worried bout overspray at this point as gaz will be prepping the wings when it gets to him anyway
was then panel wiped - twice- and then blew off and tak clothed
then it was primer time !!!!!
after the first coat

and after the 2nd coat had been give a hour to dry , the guide coat was applied
so yeah the car will now be left till monday when it will be wet flatted and prepped for paint .
autosport tomorrow , see if we can pick up any more fresh ideas for the car

looking at this cant wait till karl gets started on my new little mk3, i got them geniuine ford wings mate, also the front panel and even a gen scuttle

had a look at the car beef when i dropped them parts of for you,its looking realy good mate ,wont be long now till mines in there roll on march.

reason we aint primering the outside as gaz will be painting that , ill let hip prep n prime it
that way he knows every inch of what hes painting , he may choose to catty the dents before primer ect ,.
bay should be flatted tomorrow , hopefully weel see some grey by wednesday ,
ohh and my rivnuts for the kit arrived last night ,

ok folks, 18-1-11
todays or should i say tonights update lol ,
just left k's @ half eleven lol , after a full shift at work then a half shift at garage
k's been pressing on with flatting the filler primer in the bay , by the time i got there it was 98% done with this , i got left with the other 2 lol
anyway with that done and out the way , bay was cleaned and we decided to get the inside of the arches repainted , and where the front panel is spot welded ect ,
few pics ,
the bay after the flatting stage ,
few close ups , the pics really dont show how flat it is imo - but you can see the shine on the primer
wiped with damp cloth
then it was onto the painting
the arches and inner wings were based up eairler in the resto , but they were a few areas that were left for welding ect ,

what firstly started out as blowing in the edges of the frontpanel , ended up basically painting the full inside of the panel , the tube crossmember and around the chassis leg/ front panel section , k busted out the mini hvlp gun , as getting these hard to reach areas with a small gun tonight will make it eaiser to paint tomorrow,
ohh and seeing as im nice , and feeling in a good mood lol

cars going to look evil with the carbon accents !!!
