Sorry to you Beef and all on here if this is some sort of taboo (not really been into fords until recently) but why not a 5 cylinder jobbie like a st/rs or volvo T5??? brilliant engine with lots of torque and reliability (not to mention nice noise) make a nice torquey change from a yb....sorry again if halfassed

not at all mate , your opinions as welcome as anyone elses ,
i do understand what your satying regards there being other options , and in some case better options regarding engines,
but the idea is to build the best road going mk3 cossie we can ,
and well if we change the engine we change the rules ,
as stated before and iv said this to karl , ill build it to the plan we have already and run/ show it for a year or so , then we may pull out the yb for a v8 , get karl to knock up some slighly wider rear custome arches and fit 11s or sumthing , maybe even cage it ,
but for now the plan stays , full road - full trim - full yb !!!

Been a c20let man for so long...damn vauxhalls...but developed by cosworth so...shit on my face!
Hope it's the best damn one out there (Know it will be)!!!!

Beefy, was it alloy front hubs you had machined up?
If so, want some group A WRC rears to match?

ok folks , bit up an up n down , been working on the car
but the aftermarket wing ive bought for the passenger side just isnt cutting the mustard
so if anyone has one , or knows of one , please please let me know
the panel supply company is looking into there older stock for me , but im trying to sort this as its holding up fitting the front sheet metal !!
so , with the panels and bay paint on hold , k gave the doors a once over knocked them back with a 320 , to get an idea of the dings and dents ,
quick lil guide coat to give a better idea
then found most of the small dents ect and proceded to knock them out , should halp save on the filler when it makes it to garys
found the passenger lock has been played with before
also , found a few pinholes under the weatherstrip on pass door ,
spesh said they were touch n go as to wether they
would weld up as the metals particularly thin,
stil he had a go and all looks well
so i got on with this
picked it up at the weekend
threw a sheet in to mock up the size
started cutting up and shaping ,
found a handy spot for an offcut
never fitted it before , so fucked the first peice lol , then got it to the right temp with the heat gun and just worked it ,
think it looks spot on , follows the floor contours ect ,
k based up the drivers inner wing
and then tonight after work i finshed up the pass side
and how they look
really pleased how they turned out , shame they get coverd by carpet , but with them done the interiors 99 % ready for paint
k's going to check if they got us a panel , ill carry on the search lol as said if you got one let me know via pm PLEASE !!!!
really its the only thing holding up the paint ..
will update as i know ,
beef & spesh !!!

now mate , first peice i did a got it super hot , peeled back half the backing and stuck it down , then got it hot and went to pull the backing off and it streched and split ,
2nd time , i wnt a diffrent tact , as you see its firm and quite brittle in the box , i flashed it over with a head gun till it became plyable in my hands but i was still able to hold it , then just peeled off the backing alligned a side up and started working it in ,
as it cools it firms up , so i simply flashed it over with the gun again , making sure to work it down into the pressings on the floor ,
then once down , just warmed the whole lot up , and pressed it down with the back of a welding gauntlett ,
ohh dave , make sure you peel of the protective film from the topside aswell , as if you leave it on when u paint it will just simply peel lol
hope that helps
