Had some productive hours in the garage today. Found some surace rust on the frame around the windshield so i sanded that down, put on some 2 comp filler, some mallard base and some clearcoat. Not visible after window and seals but like to have it proper done all the way
Also put the tailgate back on. Next week im going to get a new windshield and hopefully get some alcantara interior bits mounted.
Wired up the new crystal morrettes and some of the old wireing was rather dodgy. So got that sorted as well. Time consuming, but worth it i think.

Got Rick at Highgatehouse to make the OZ decals for 19" so now they are ready for order.
http://www.highgatehouse.co.uk/OZ%20Rims.htm
Spent a few patient hours removing the old stickers today.
Ready for gold
New innerwings
Ready for its new windshield. The old windshield is just taped in place for the short ride.
Also got a hard package in the mail today. Diffcover from Mk motorsport. Quality stuff. Well worth the wait.

Here are the pros in action. The company that changed the windshield are some of the nicest people i ever been in contact with. Great service and they invited me in so i could see the prosess from a-z. Very interesting.
Pros i aksjon.
Then it was a good wash before delivering the car to my painter. So on sunday i have the car back with shining carbon and newpainted OZ wheels. Performancetrim does not have the same, great finish that Creative carbon has.
Then today i got a great surprice in the mailbox. Only few days ago i sent many pictures and measurements over to highgatehouse in Uk so they could produce the decals in black and for 19" wheels for me. And today they landed in my mailbox. Thats insanely fast. Many Uk vendors could learn from this guy!!!!

Long time since last update. Not too much going on.
But have got a new headliner and bought a few meters of alcantara. Also painted some of the plasticbits to fit with the black roof. A and B pillar also in alcantara.
Also got some new wipers. Looks much better with the more modern looking ones

Been modifying some more lately. Interior stuff and under the bonnet.
A friend of mine is welding AN fittings on all my tanks, rockercover, swirl pot etc and then its going crackle black. Or wrinckle finish as some say.
A f....... mess!!!
Not room for much bigger
Also modified the dash to fit a 7" screen and the geardisplay. Ready for flocking
When i was going to fit the cooler and rad i bumped into a minor problem. My car was originally fitted with aircon, so the crank pulley was made for two belts. So i ordered all the pullys from Mark at MK Motorsport anodized in black
Mounted the fans on the radiator and got some braided sleeve around the wires and changed the connector so it fits the loom
Bought 3 kilos of black 1mm flock nylon, pigment and glue. Gonna give it a go myself. Doesnt look very difficult.
Also got a big box of polish and detailing stuff from Uk. ONLY 13 pounds in shippingcost for the lot. So if its possible to ship that amount of goods to Norway for that money, ive obviously been screwed many times lol.
Ordered some Stack instruments from Mike as well. Stack ST8130P, Stack pro control afr and Stack pro control exhausttemp.

This sunday it was very wet and the humidity was high. High humidity is perfect for flocking. So i flocked the plastic bits around the steering and instruments. And the panel i modified for the screen and geardisplay.
Also got some more parts from Mark at MK Motorsport today so now i can fit my cooler and rad. Top quality as always Mark. Thank you. Looking forward to get the rest of the parts. But this was the most important one so i can weld the brackets for the cooler.
The OEM crank pully was to wide because of the extra belt of the aircon.

I guess its about time for another update. ONLY little over two years since the last one. The car is still alive and i hope to get it ready before the end of the year.
Two months after the last update we discovered that our 1 year old son had cancer on his liver. So because of this, i didnt found much time for the car.
But he is now 100% well, and has been for about a year. So i then could start to focus more on the escort again.
I have modified the tunnel for the 6 speed elite IL300 sequential gearbox, fixed some rusty panels, modified the tops and welded some brackets for the radiator/cooler.
gearbox
Out with the old engine. It had 517whp, and i sold that to help financing the new one.
Got myself a MIS copy in alu. Not magnezium like the original ones.
With the engine out i started to remove everything, and also modified the original loom. With computer management there is too many wires i dont need anymore. A f......... shitty job.
Also removed everything inside the car so i could start modification to the tunnel and soundproofing the interior
New instruments from Mike R.
I molded my own carbon sidelight to go with the carboncovers on the headlights
I have painted the enginebay earlier also, and i was sure it was totally rust free. Well, i was wrong. The idiot that i bought the car of had painted a steelplate and put it on top of the rust and bonded it with silicon hahaha. Couldnt do anything else than laugh when i realized it. Removed the plate and started to fix the problem.
More to come. Just need to sort my pictures.

Here you can see im started to modify the tunnel. I mostly needed to modify because of the solonoid for the reverse. First it was put in reverse by a wire on the lever, but i bought an electric solonoid with a pushbutton on it. Terrible design on that solonoid.
Welded all the unnecessary holes
Finished up the tunnel and started to put the dynamat extreme mats on.

Did the entire interior. Roof, doors, all floor, actually all the naked steel inside the car. And the dynamat is so thin, so the weight is nothing to mention.
Modifying the tops to fit the wrc ones. And started to sand........
AN fittings welded on the SPEC-R tanks. Off with the chrome. Its going wrinkle black
Injectors for the MIS inlet
Making more carbon parts
Modifying the centre consol. Moved the heater controls down and are fitting a Lap-timer

Its converted to 2wd, but i have been using the 4x4 crossmember until now. But now im fitting a drysump system so i had to change to a 2wd crossmember.
It didnt look any good, but a good cleanup followed by glassblasting, zink-galvanizing and powdercoat made everything much better.
Testfitting
Modifying frontbumper and more testfitting
Also had to modify the aluframe inside the bumper
Not much clearence, but about 14mm will do.
I mounted an oilcooler behind the passenger foglight, so no room for the lights anymore.
Will use RS500 grilles.
Was a bit worried about the clearence between the inlet and the strut brace. But its all good.

What an amazing build. What's the bhp of the new engine?

This car is awesome, fantastic work. Was the flocking you done easy to do? And was it a DIY carbon fibre kit? Did you have to fibreglass a mould then lay in the carbon stuff?

Im buying cloth fra USA, and make it first in fibreglass yes. Then i apply carbon. I want to start making it the "right" way with vacuum, but havent got around to it yet.
