battery tray problem

i have bubble rust no holes as yet under my bat tray, anyone had this problem? how did you go about sorting it?

it's in the long oval hole.

best thing i can think of is to remove the bat tray

by the way the paints missing cos my bat leaked so it took the paint off so ive started to rub it down.in prep for paint.

best way would be to remove the tray its self fairly easy if i remember rightly
