I've just found this forum & build. I got a photo of this at the R.S show at Bodmin a while ago. It's probably to late now (but i don't want to go to the end of the build) but how about going green and yellow in the same style as above. This will then keep your signiture paint going? Just a thought.

time for an update
The rear aerofoil was very rough so i gave it a quick bit of filler to smooth it off
the horses heads of the spoiler was in a poor condition ,it was held together with expandafoam news paper & filler
so i dug out the foam & put a load of filler in to give me a good base to get the true shape of the top of the 1/4 panel
then i covered the 1/4 panel with cling film
put a huge dollop of filler on the end of the spoiler & held it in place until the filler was hard
sanded back the filler and voila fits like a glove
unfortunately this spoiler will only ever be used for the moulds as there is no strength going through it ,but the new spoilers will have a full laser cut back bone & base with cnc,d mounting points so the spoiler is adjustable .

another update
i bought some Eibach helper springs off ebay ,but i cocked up & bought 2.5"springs instead of 2.1/4 " so i bought some nylon 66 off ebay which is a good machining grade with good sliding properties & got a friend to machine me up a set of adaptors for the adjusting platform to take the larger spring & a set of adaptors to go from 2.5 " spring on bottom to 2.1/4 " main spring on top .
i also got him to make me eight m10 miss alignment washers in alloy
i am also upgrading the m12x1.25mm rose joints on my rear link arms to m14x2mm rose joints so i also got my mate to machine up some reducing miss alignment washers to go from m14 down to m12 .

No i have not got any thing on the car yet but i have bare metalled the engine to paint in its new colour which will be kawasaki green ,which is in keeping with the zakspeed escorts
and i have 1 litre left over from the rear end of my old colour scheme
i did get a good result a couple of weeks ago i managed to get hold of a 45 gallon drum of resin FREE which should of cost Ł600 & two 25kg drums of blue gel coat FREE but i have had to buy all the matt so far
so all in all im very happy im also got an independent fibre glasser to do the prep work on the new kit & i have just talked him into doing moulds for part of the kit if not all of the kit at a good price so it will be right first time as i can not afford to cock this kit up .

the grinder in the back ground was just to cut the rear horses heads down the middle as they were to wide for the 1/4 panels so not to bad (no cutting of the shell ) YET .

done a bit more on the engine i have finished stripping the block back to bare metal ready for painting in its new colour & i have also drilled & tapped the engine mounts out to take m10 instead of m8 which is what they done on the group a rally cars .
i need to get some etch primer so i can start to paint the block .
