I though you would have made some pegs up to do this, as they are only std items with the three driveshaft bolts changed for pegs.

i know that would be a simple fix but the main reason i got new flanges & stubs was the last time i tarted it all up i got the front & rear stubs & flanges zinc plated & they are tight as fook to the point i totally mullered the threads trying to strip them apart

finally got hold of a 240v tig today

cage dropped





all tigged up


just got to lift it back up & weld the bases

 

good work mate, will keep you busy all that tigging over the xmas holidays lol

How different it tig welding compared to mig Andy? I'm pretty good at mig and i always wanted to give tig a go

nice that andy must say this car got more holes than swizz cheese very lite wieght were needed

 

to be honest doug i get one of the lads from work to do my tig welding as mine is not that good, if you can gas weld then you should be able to tig its all down to practice which is some thing i never get time to do .

 

i have got quiet a few holes in my car it all adds to the detail

 

carnt beat having a few holes in different locations andy

 

between you & wenny im getting all confused

How much did you pay for the TIG set Andy?

 

thanks mate i borrowed the tig plant from work its the only 240v one we have all the others are 415v

 

Ah right, can't beat a free shot of something I was just curious as a TIG set is on my shopping list for the future, maybe next year.

small update
finally got my new tilton pedal box



done a bit more work on the cage got it back up onto the base box,s & mocked up where to put some more tubes.






also got 12mtrs of 40mm x 2mm wall cds tubing .

 

the down side of fitting the cage is because im a lanky twat & i raised the floor pan to fit twin side exit exhaust i now have to cut out the o/s rear floor & drop it down 4 "s so i can get my big head in with out hitting the cage ..

at least i can use my grinder again to do some cutting.
