Did the plate used to be on a magenta saff? Sure I remember the plate from Surrey RS meets and/or Guildford cruise many years ago? (About 2002!)

Well I've only driven it for a few miles and had a little problem

The original wing lips were rolled to clear the wheels/tyres

The first bit of hard use the tyres made contact with the arch lip,
So to try and get round this I fitted a slightly narrower tyre and although this has helped a fair bit it still rubs a little
I could have changed the wheels and even did a for sale post but changed my mind as I really like the Azevs

So my next option was to raise the suspension a bit but couldn't get any definite answers as what to go for to get the maximum hight
so I've gone for GAZ coilovers! i was looking at getting the cheaper ones for about the Ł600 mark but managed to get a set of new GAZ golds for almost the same money

now I've just got to find the time to fit it all up and give the hubs/ rear beam a clean up

Have also given the wheels a clean up and repaint

Yeah that's what the wife calls it...... Then again she also calls it that fucking car lol

I've just got in from its first test drive and I'm going to need to adjust the nsr inner wing as the coilovers rubbing a little then I'll stiffen it up as its a bit choppy/soft at higher speed!
Will lower it a bit as it's sitting like a 4x4 lol

On a brighter note I took the car or for a spin a for some reason the cam belt tensioner has come loose and the belt has slipped
Only just got in so no idea what damage its done yet but hopefully I'll find out tomorrow night

gutted is an understatement

So Im thinking of going the pod on sunday and getting the parts off Matt Lewis!

But do I upgrade the had gasket while I'm at it it was meant to have a multilayer gasket fitted but its just a standard one (although I knew this before today) I've checked the block with a straight edge and all seems well so thinking I could fit a wrc type gasket and then up the boost!
The boost was set lower when mapped due to not knowing the condition/type of gasket fitted

Thoughts?

you may as well change all the valves then and get the guides looked at too in case they've been bent out of shape

then you may as well get the inlets and exhausts flowed to use the larier cams and change the pistons to pockets just in case the belt lets go again eh

Really wished I'd had my pistons pocketed when I built mine, just incase that sort of thing happened to me...
