Black saph 2wd, Update 14/11/2015

That diff plate looks sexy! I had to grind my bolt head down to clear the arb.
Nice power there too Matt, and phenomenol torque! Although as you know mine was done there the week before and felt the torque was a little on the high side... at least the gearbox thinks so lol!
Love this car though mate!

Cheers Paul
Read and weep my bald friend
mate, mike guerney came in the week before and calibrated the dyno and it was 0.6% out then so spot on mate but in all fairness when a turbo car doesnt run through properly because its poorly or not quite right it does seem to make the torque fig seem high and thats why matts has come out high but yours run right through with no probs so is deffo correct!!
cheers danny

See you all at coombe

Well it WAS all going well for almost a whole year untill the head gasket let go again
Was thinking of selling it but the missus says NO! so the decision was made to go to town on it this time,
Want it back out on the road for coombe for next year
so I have now got a new(to me) engine, GT30 turbo, and an autronic ecu and new brembo calipers
this is the engine spec from the forsale ad
First off is the engine:
New 200 block
forged pistons running standard compression with big vavle cut outs
standard grind crank
fully lighten and balanced bottom end
new stardard rods
arp everything
wrc gasket ( told by grace engines who built it its 6 long studs) with arp bolts in the rest
uprated oil pump
2wd sump
grace engines race spec head
custom grind cams to grace engines spec (perfect for rb turbo)
3 angle seats, new guides (the lot)
this is still in car so can be heard running and is in a 520bhp 3dr detuned to 450bhp @1.5 bar and has done 6/7k faultlessly.
Anyway a few pics
inlet
Cleaned up and painted with msd 14mm spacer with all new stainless allen cap head bolts
New engine was built by Grace engine developments about 7k miles ago and im told its good big power
Gave it a clean up and repainted the block
I fitted a new cometic sump set just because I had 1 in stock!!
will be adding a few bits new bolts etc just to tidy it up a bit
GT3071 just needs a bit of a clean up its very good other than that
Autronic sm4
New brembos from an evo 7iirc with home made mounts
As soon as its all together it will be booked in with Mark Shead for mapping so should do a proper 450bhp with any luck
Got to say a huge thanks to Rod Tarry for sorting the loom for the autronic and wouldnt take a penny from me

Not to worry its sorted now, nah I got it off another forum member(eazy ways) on here just need to find the time to get it all together now and see if it works as I asked Mark Shead about the coils and he has never used them either, always nice to try new things although I really hate/dont do wiring
was it you that did the phase sensor aswell then? looks a tidy little job mate will look nice when it all done and running
#616
Not really much to update with but hey that's never stopped my in the past lol
At long last the 2post lift is in and the cossy is now in there ready for some action!
and tonight I got an engine hoist off a mate (cheers Si) so am going to try and get the old engine out tomorrow after work and give the bay a good old clean up as when the old engine went it's coated the bay in oil

I now need to get my finger out as i really want the car back on the road as more than anything I got a new plate for it, I'm now the owner of G10 COS for a bargain price so that the incentive I need lol to get the project moving again,
the new lump is now fully built up just need to fit the clutch so once I'm back from scottyland I am going to jump on it to try and have her on the road for summer, although I'm not sure how far i am going with the tidy up until the engines in could well end up going concourse if the misses gets her way!!

and sorry cant remember much about it was years ago when i made it for mine was all streight forward tho just have to grind a couple of the teeth of the front pulley, cant remember which ones tho?
#627
Think I have the right coils but any info you have would be much appreciated!
The engine was already running on a sm4 so the pulley has already been modded any idea how the phase sensoris set up?

but I'm hoping that my mate will have sorted it by now as he's been doing a few little bits for me if not
Cheers Beef!
well at long last the new lump is in but for some reason it was fighting me every step of the way and i even managed to dameae the bonnet with the hoist oh well never mind it just means it all be deffo getting a full repaint now )was in 2 minds before)
Glad its in at last although I have a list of bits I now need like hoses, heat shield, and a shit load of stainless nuts bolts etc
Really want to get it over to Mark Shead asap for fitting the sm4 and mapping now and then worry about the bodywork in a few months time
#633
i dont wanna sound out of order here and dont want to offend danny and luke but them rollers are out on the torque, theres no way would that make that much torque at 2.2 bar/32psi
a very good enigne would make 400lbft
take that as you will but im just giving you my opinion

As Jay says its over @MA Developments getting mapped
Cheers just hope its all been worth it
I need it back now so i can fit the carbon...... and replace the dodgy gar cambelt
you and me both its been off the road far toooooooooo longgggggg now as i said tho just hope its been worth all the time/money
as soon as its back its in for mot, then all being well it will get its head kicked in for a week or 2,then start preping it for a bit of bodywork and maybe change a few thing just to freshen it up a bit( no idea what/how yet)
its all taken longer as I have been fucking about with off roading and building my brothers bobtail discovery
thread to the build soo far
