Last6 night was quite amusing!! Watching chio and stu work away like the little squirrels that they are, and then watching lee watch!

Stu and Chip - i think stu was just about to go down on chip at this point!

Lee working VERY hard at trying to look like he is ACTUALLY interested in what chip is doing!

Lee looking for one of the many tool that between him and chip they lost!

Chip just loves dressing up!

Then making pretty lights!

But then needs assistance, but stu insists he doesnt have to dress up!

Then Stu and lee decided they needed a little lay down!

Then i found out it was to look at these things! Fuel things?

But then they had to do some head scratching to make it look like they were being interlectual

Amazing progress!

One of the biggest jobs that stu has done was completely refitting the bodywork which unbelivably was not attached and never had been at the rear!!! This was causing the wheels to rub, the body to look wonky and whole body was cracking and feeling genuinely floopy!

At some point the car had a spare wheel carrier and wheel fitted at the back (thats why it has all the holes and stuff) but this was very much bodged on and so stu had to do alot of cutting and rewelding just to get the car back to how it should look. Before riveting the body back together in the correct places. This together with the new RAC roll bar that fits right on the chassis has made a huge improvement to the look and feel and you can now lift the car up by the body! Will no doubt add to the drive as well!

The engine was now also going back together. New bigends, the tiniest head skim, and some pocketed pistons was all we went for (thanks to slim boy steve, amazing price and quick service)

Stu has a bufty obsession and wants to be a professional engine dresser and flower arranger when he grows up.... so bufty shiny hex bolts were used with cometic gaskets and all the pulleys and washers were sprayed It was starting to look cool though... oh and stu used these washers that apparently Mountune use and they mean things wont ever come undone

Name: DSC03926.jpg
Views: 91
Size: 55.9 KB

New Tensioner going on... and JUST in time! the old one was FUCKED and about to fail and detroy the engine!!! We think that was the squeaking shreaking noise at National day that we put down to an alternator bearing before!!!

Name: DSC03912.jpg
Views: 95
Size: 61.3 KB

Stu checking the Chips Cambelt job! as it went on FAR too easily.... NEITHER of them wanted to put this on as they BOTH get the willys doing it on other peoples engine apparently POOFS

Reassembled and with the funky Reyland Billet Fuel and Siemens injectors and new Piper verniers that Mat Lewis sent by accident but that I was never going to be able to resist hahahah ... (GREAT sales technique Mat!)
Just needs some of those cool Reyland Pulley bolts! please send Martoooon!

Name: DSC03947.jpg

Name: DSC03948.jpg
Views: 107

Also fitted was a new 4x4 TPS as we are going to L8 with MSD coil pack conversion.... for reliability as well as performance. Seemed silly not to fit a new Ryan loom as well to really make sure things are bulletproof. Sadly Ryan is on holidays! but CossieRich came to the rescue and Chip and him ripped the one out of his saff for me!!!

Apparently it went into the Westy REALLY easily NOT! took about four hours of blood sweat and tears and the Westy was almost chopped up with an axe at one point I hear! but at 3am... it was done! THANKS CHAPS!

Stu had also been busy fabricating a bracket for the new 044 pump... awesome result in the end and also much better as before the pump was above the collecter in the tank... these pumps don't suck that well and ideally must be gravity fed. Here is the new set up...

This also meant that the fuel tank collecter would needed to be modded as the outlet and return were now in the wrong place...

Quick call and with the promise of cakes and boobs Wayne at Proalloy would mod the tank whilst we waited! Legend!!!

When we got there though Chris at PAlloy noticed that there was something rattling around inside the tank and was not happy with it.... and proceded to get it out!!!

this was pulled out eventually!!!

Name: 29082008114.jpg
Views: 90

Then Chris started deciphering Stus scribbles on the tank and got to work modding it!

Name: 29082008115.jpg
Views: 92
Size: 30.8 KB

all done...

Name: 29082008118.jpg

He then got to work making a little pipe stu wanted fabricated for the new water system he was planning on fitting.

wicked final result. Wish I could make stuff this cool in about 2 mins!!!!

Name: 29082008122.jpg

Thanks to Wayne and Chris at Proalloy for super service!!!

We also got some new straps and some rubber to reattach the tank and few other bits and then left to VAUXHALL... to pick up a washer for 86p

Chips involved so we had to get one gay Vaux part of the Bathtub!!

Top work by Stu, Chip and Maria (top bar work skills no doubt)

Shame about the spectator that looked to be getting in the way

Ah ha, spotted a bit that Porkie did:

Hmmm..... zip ties?

Not to the standard we've come to expect of you Lee, ruining all the hard work the lads have done for you

I'm sure they're only temporary (right? )

Car's coming on leaps and bounds, seeing it at National Day was handy, as everyone new the Yorik MkI version wouldn't stay that way for long, and Yorik MarkII is deffo going to be a GREAT improvement over what I saw (which was cool and fast as it was!)

More piccies and progress reports please!

I will have to put my prices up when working on Ford engines, I forgot the Cosworth 'tax'. When I do work like that for the Vauxhall owners they complain that it is too expensive.

PS those washers are called Schnorr washers.

Awesome work guys!! Coming along nicely.

Is there a technical reason why the tank didn't have 'quip fittings welded on? As I would've thought that would be the best way?

Stu has made fantastic progress with it given the timescales he has had IMHO

Hopefully if Lee can source the last couple of parts we need (decent clutch, good condition 4wd manifold etc) then it will be back together soon
