Uppppdate!!! (moving fast eh?)
Mapping date changed to 2nd September -
Pistons and Rods arrived at ShawSpeed today - look awesome hey?
Some specs -
New machined pistons will run 12.5:1 CR - They weigh 286g each as opposed to 306g as standard..
The rods - they weigh more than standard rods, 450g opposed to 399g, but they look well upto the job
Cams should be here next week - and hopefully should be good for 200bhp - if not, there is another spec we can try, similar profile but more lift.
Crank should be done next week, we could be pushing it, but fingers crossed it'll be here.
ONTO the pics!
Sexy forged rods - look too good to be used! :
These come with ARP rod bolts..
Pistons, nicely machined, still got huge cutouts, perfect for the cams!
Thank you!

So last night I picked up the crank and the cams - this is gonna be an animal!
Head won't be ready intime for mapping but it'll get mapped anyway then a tweak later on.
It'll be running standard head and valves - not sure how much this will restrict it but we'll see. From what I can gather it may have higher peak torque figure, but will be more erractic and peaky compared to a nice smooth torque curve with the bigger valves and head. We'll see how that is later!
The build starts today, hopefully have short motor built tonight, head modded to accept the bigger cams, clearances checked and ready to go on tomorrow. Engine in Saturday avo, running in/bit of mapping Sunday/Monday.
Anyway - cams are huge!
One good looking crank!
The stack and oil pressure gauge will also be fitted this weekend, as well as new pads, top mounts, new brake fluid.

OK so an update for today - bottom end is built up, rods, crank and pistons are in. Tomorrow day brings the head being modded to accept the cam lobes, and then fixing it all back together and getting it in the car.
Also Jon made up a nice carbon plate for my clock sound for an oil pressure gauge.
Cheers!
The block after I'd cleaned away most of the old head gasket, the bores were also rehoned as they'd gained a little bit of a shine - all nice and dull now.
Crank was put in place and cradle over the top - ready for the rods and pistons...
And violá! The crank is in - pistons and rods are in and we're ready for the head!
Picture of the pistons in the block..
Awesome!!
And one of the dash so far - tomorrow hopefully the stack should be forced into the old rev counter bit!
There we go! til tomorrow!

Fairly big update - not too many pictures as I was too busy.
So Sunday was the day the head was to be modified to fit the cams,
Basically the lobes won't clear the casting of the head due to size, so they needed to be machined down slightly. Not so hard to do but a messy job!
As you can see the lobes will hit:
Below you can see the modification made:
So next up the head was rebuilt, clearances sorted (easy peasy! only a few were out!!!) and it was ready to go to Mossys' paint shop.......
Engine was all put back together and transported back to my house, this is the engine and gearbox all bolted up:
Fiesta powered by Mossy:
No pictures of the engine in the bay just yet, was in too much of a rush.
The car struggles to start at the moment and when it does it's pinking like mad and won't rev. Sounds bad, but actually quite promising! It's obviously changed enough from the old spec to be that far out on the mapping!
Thanks to Jon@ShawSpeed and Steve Greenald of Track n Road I've managed to get hold of my original map with a load of ignition removed and more rich at certain load sites, just to run the car in, and get it down to London for mapping on the 5th of Sept at Track n Road.
Still waiting on Injectors as there seems t be a shortage at the moment but touch wood they'll be here soon.
Thanks to Mossy/Al/Chris/Jon@SS/Steve Greenald for help in one way or another this weekend.

No updates just yet as such.
Missed mapping slot due to timing being out - got angry with it and ended up bending a load of inlet valves.
Not to worry, we're just gonna wait for the head which should be done anytime soon.
Not 100% sure on spec - but it will be ported both sides, bigger valves both sides - also using bronze valve guides.
Not rebooked the mapping yet - not doing that until I get the engine running.
Cage should be here anyday - but just not got time to fit anything.

OK Cage has arrived and I've picked up the Cylinder Head.
Excuse the shít pictures:
It's had bigger exhaust valves and it's ported.
Combustion chamber and reworked valve seats:
Inlet port:
Excuse the cucumber.
Next photo shows something good
That is the throttle body mated to the cylinder head - They have been port matched, It's as if the body is cast into the head! No lumpy bits just nice and smooth straight into the head.
(The butterfly opens a little less than shown)
Exhaust port:
Hopefully get it running over the christmas period.
Cheers.
