Cage work is being done by Dave Matthews of DM Motorsport in Swansea.
He builds lots of professional rally cars for a lot of big names in the sport. Lovely bloke and superbly talented.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
was thinking the same thing..
my only thought was that the navigator sometimes sits lower than the driver so his seat and belts would need to be set lower compared to the driver side but that wouldn't be needed on a road car so ?????
EDIT :
Actually looking at the picture with the swan neck in place, it does seem to give a more affective connection between the horizontal bar and the diagonal cross bars.. so could be just a strength / ridigity thing.

Is this cage going through the bulkhead onto the strut towers front and rear ?
What about diff mounts ?
Just wondering how far you're going with it...

Yes the swan neck is there as it allows the driver and passenger Hans bar to be at differing heights but using only one bar. FIA regs also state that harness may only be connected to no smaller than 38.1mm dia T45. If it were in sections then the centre cross would also have to be made in 38.1mm too as the Hans bars would fix to this. As you can see, my centre cross is only 25mm dia and this is able to be done by the fact that the harness are connected to 38.1mm. This reduces weight where allowed. Its been built to drawing which means it will also get a Homologation number. This means the shell can be easily log booked and used for competition.
The cage is an exact replica of the Prodrive designed and built item in a WRC S12B.

Here they are.
S12B WRC items, and yes they're all made from one piece of metal.
The most beautiful a pillar gussets you'll ever see, they wrap around the tube as well as run back and forth.

570 mile round trip to see Dave at DM Motorsport today and catch up with the fabrication work on my old shed. I have to say, the photos really don't do his work justice. In the metal it looks even more bonkers than I knew it would be.
Also picked up my carbon doorcards and discussed the rest of the items to be done.
I can't wait to see her in paint.

Cheers Neil. I've gone from YBs to EJs. However my roots will always come back to a Cosworth.
Few cars out a smile on your face the way a Cossie does.
However I just love the engineering in the Subaru platform. It's just so well laid out and designed.
Like most cars though. They all take a fair bit of honing to get them where you want em.
One day when I can afford it I'll have another Cossie. I love em and always will.

Okay, so I've been keeping this plan on the down low.
I'll let the photos do the talking.
Basically all genuine panels with steel rear qtrs and doors, carbon sills and kevlar wings.
WRC S8 coming soon.

We should get them together once its done for a roll down to some of the pistonheads supercar gatherings. They will literally stop people in their tracks
