Man who may be able to help
Sold a car to a guy called Geoff Page a few years ago. He worked at Mountune at the time. May still be there. He did the engine development for the 1700T and RS200. Very clever bloke, loves his cars, albeit Alfa's! The car is STUNNING!!!!

rs 1700t engine
help
I have just been reading classic ford this month, and i saw the article on the rs 1700t.
Half way through the article there is a picture of a floorpan and two inner wings bulkhead etc, also an engine, it says underneath about a bdt engine but i can asure you the engine is no bdt.
I know nearly all rs 1700t's had bdt's in them all except chassis p6 or p7, which was destroyed in an accident (true vatanen style).
ive been doing some research and aparently one car (chassis p6 or p7) was fitted with what they said was a hart 420R engine N/A 2.4, but the engine in the picture isn't that either. so does anyone know what it is?
Thanks, Wayne

Hart 420R engine...used a alot in racing formulas all over the world, also used in several rally cars in this country, Ian Gwynne used to campaign a mk2 with a hart 420R in...similar to a millington engine..very powerful motors...
The one in the pic is on slide injection...

Dave not Claire.
I do recall being told that it was very rare as a road car. was deffo the real deal with the pukka (bdt??) and trans axle.
It used to be on show at a petrol station in skegness.
I saw the old owner at autosport a good few years ago, he told me then he had sold it to Malcom who had it in his collection.

Dont know if he's still got it, I havent seen him for quite a while.
Weird things, I was never that big a fan.
