Small update, she's alive...
First flick of the key, started up like factory new-ness.
Hustler...
Best off going power fc then..
Don't forget the clutch and gearbox then if you plan on going 2.5

Amazing job, I looked at the fire wreck shot on the first page and though it wasn't possible to repair a car in that state.... stunning, I take it you've finished now and the beast has been MOT'd well done!

Just spent the best part of two hours reading this thread from start to finish, 1st time I have looked at it to be honest, as you said "a Subaru on a ford site" which didn't interest me...Holy F^^K, how wrong was I.
Enjoy you lucky beggar! Superb work and commitment, well done!

So, today the car was MOT'd, and Andrew turned up to put an initial map on the car to allow me to put a few miles on it over the next week or so..
This was also the cars maiden voyage, apart from the MOT station which was a mile or so down the road, and as such is always filled with doubts and worries about a car which has been rebuilt..
Out mapping, so I finds a nice few stretches of road where there was little or no trafic, apart from some contractors working on a nearby building site.
All seems good, and soon enough Andrew gets it to a point whereby I can safely drive it.
However it wasn't until we returned to the workshop when we discovered my first problem, and something was missing from the car...
I need some mudflaps...
I feel like I have wasted the last 12 months making it all bufty...
As you can see the suspension has also settled down at the rear in particular, so I have now raised it up 15mm, and took the front up 7mm.
I have also got some decals on the brake calipers...
Now I know I have only done 30 or so miles in the car, but so far it all seems good.
Brake pedal and feel are awesome, and the suspension is not too harsh (better than Teins I have used in the past), which I was worried about on our loverly smooth English roads..
Clutch (exedy twin plate) is nice and easy to use, and not too noisy..
Gave the car it's first oil change, and put another gallon of running in oil in for now.

How do Frayz..
I am looking at carbon flaps anyway, with a view to trimming them down as much as possible.
However, the wheels stick out from the wing at the bottom by about 3", so they would need to be almost full width, but without the length.... If that makes any sense...

Not sure TBH Frayz, depends on 'other' things outside my control...
Ok Chaps, small update..
After my dirty mapping session , I had the car detailed by my good friend Ian at Finer Details..
Great job as always, but unfortunately I didn't take any pics myself whilst he was doing it, but there are some here if you are really interested..
FinerDetails - One for Ten of the Best Show - Detailing World
I have also put this harness bar in ready for future additions...
And bought this to put in...
This way I can..
1) Listen to some CD's on the way to Ten of the Best..
2) Find my way to Ten of the Best
3) Watch a DVD whilst waiting to get in/out of Ten of the Best..
Roll on Sunday.
First little outing for my baby, and a nice convoy up with my local club (LADS - Lancashire And District Subaru owners club) who have a display/stand area in the main paddock...which is nice.
