Mate - just read this from start to finish - so much respect for keeping with it through all the problems!
Looking forward to seeing what power figures she makes after mapping - i'd say with that bottom end 250ish...?
(don't know what exhaust system you're running etc.)
Might come and have a butchers at this at FITP if you're going?

big will - we were hoping for around 250 ish with teh old fiesta turbo management, as we were restricted on what boost we could run
now thats not an issue, and the pectel will run it safe and more reliable than the fezzy stuff so i rekon we are lookin around 280 ish but a usable 250
reason being, that bottm end is built strong enough to take well into the 300's according to a few top names in tuning!
altho its only an 1800, but should be strong, just lacking the cc's of a 2.1

right, cars back and mapped. im sooo chuffed with it!
car can only be mapped on low boost due to the clutch slipping over 12psi so 4 paddle will be going back in soon, when i have time and the inclination lol.

of course you will enjoy
I mean that the exhaust manifold is not perfect to the zetec engine head, i know one friend who puts turbo to his orion 1.8 and he has put a aluminium slab between the exhaust manifild and the head. He is using the original holes to hold the slab, and the manifold to the slab. The differens between the zetec head and the 1.6 cvh turbo ehxaust manifold are removed. But I think that to make things easy is to be done custom ehxaust manifold which will be with perfect holes, shape, size ...
let me show you ...

oh i get you now. the ports line up perfectly, just had the holes redrilled. no need for a custom one as the power it produces its not needed

Hi!
I'm the mentioned above guy with ZT Orion.
Chrissy_bwoy, I have few questions and a pic request.
1. Please can you draw pic of cooling system/pipes? I must plumb mine, but since my car was CVH cooling system must be defferent now and don't have a clue how to sort it
2. Do you use watercooled jacket of turbo? If yes - please include it in drawing.
3. What kind of radiator fan do you use?
Also can you take few pics for me? I want to see turbo to radiator clearance, radiator fan setup, entire watercooling system.
I have a problem with radiator because I can't put cooler in same situ as yours (different bumper) and now must purchase custom radiator (copper). My cooler is Sierra Cosworth 2WD and will be mounted above radiator (as Escort Cossie), so radiator must be less that 30cm. in height - some sort of 600 X 270 X 42 cm (near Cossie dimentions ). With custom made radiator I can request some "plugs" (is that the correct word?) for turbo cooling (that's the reason for question 2). Also radiator fan will be front mounted cause I have no space behind radiator .
Thanks!
P.S. Sorry for my bad English but it's not my native language.

as mine was a zetec originally i dont have a clue what the differences are with the CVH to zetec pipes, maybe woirth asking in the main area as its been done by many people before.
i dont use a water cooled turbo
i use a spall radiator fan. mounted on the rear, very close to the turbo.
as for the rad and cooler, i know pro ally do a cooler now specifically for the mk6 escort so might be worth having a word with them regards a cooler and radiator combo. or just speak to them to build you a rad that would fit your application.
i am not sure about the plugs, so cant really advise. best off speaking direct to whomever builds your rad.
ill try and get some pics for you regarding turbo clearance but in total there is about 1" or 2.5cm
TM RACER®
ill see what i can do vid wise mate
and anna, thanks

That's an awesome project mate. Absolutely love sorted mk6 'Scorts, especially ones with the go to match the show.
Would love to do one of these, possibly to an RS2K with the 4x4 running gear in (either turbo'ing the I5 or putting in a Zetec) but can only guess the cost of turboing the engine and getting the right bits, injectors, pistons etc would run into thousands!

after the lengthy project itself i have now decided to part with the car....
so i will start breaking it end of this month when the tax is up
nothing wrong with the car apart from needing a new clutch already
my life has moved on since i started building the car and its only now i have it back i realise how much, its not really practical and i dont have room nor money for 2 cars.
so ive done it, its built ive had some fun and now its time to tear it to bits again
so all the bits etc will be up for sale v soon
cheers top all for help and support throughout the project
